Dont worry this is normal, your brain tells your body to release the bodies un needed rubbish and sometimes your body works before it can completely understand what it is doing so tears come out of your eyes as well as urination and poo come out of your private areas
Why Do I Cry When I Poop?
Dr Oz said that it is actually normal for some people to cry when they poop. If you look at how your brain makes decisions, going to the bathroom happens naturally. Your brain sends a message to your colon and says go to the bathroom, but the same parasympathetic system controls your tears, and so the signal can get crossed. Dr Oz said that this is not rare and some people only figure out that this does not happen to everyone by comparing themselves to what their friends say. Dr Oz said that some people can sweat or have blood pressure changes when they poop too!
Same problem! I know for a fact that it is normal. If interested, do more research!
It's totally normal, but not super-common. The parasympathetic system controls both in the body, and sometimes the message gets crossed, or pooping can just always trigger the tears. Sometimes this also releases oxytocin or seratonin, and this is why some people feel so good after they have a poop.
It has nothing to do with constipation or being ill or not enough fiber or feeling sad. It just triggers tears, and sometimes makes your nose run with the waterworks.

Evidently the message your brain sends to your colon is also the one that controls tears. You are normal. As my hubby says. You're going for a good cry.

My eyes have watered when i pee for as long as i can remember. Today it happened and I was in the bathroom with my sister and we got in a conversation I thought it happened to everyone but it doesnt happen to her so i got nervous and looked it up on google and i couldnt find anything but i found this and now i know im not the only one
Yeah i have the same issue of being told i have very dry eyes, yet mine water horribly when i use the bathroom.
Well I'm a 62 year old male and I have had this since a child, it seemed strange at school as I was the only person this happened to, even stranger that all these years I've never asked a doctor. I have no pain , no blood pressure problems no medical problems. What I have noticed is a small pee no watery eyes but if I'm bursting to pee well the crying eyes follow suit. It certainly is a mystery .
Wow I did not know that!! You've been really helpful. I didn't know it was something to do with my brain thx !!
I too have this syndrome. When I was a little kid I thought everyone did it. IT doesn't matter if I am Peeing or pooing. I always wondered what caused this. I don't know of anyone else in my family that does it. My children don't. If anyone finds out any answer.. Let me, Only because I am curious!!
I too have watering eyes when I pee. I actually asked my gynecologist about this last year and she basically looked at me like I was crazy, said she had never heard of such a thing, and that I shouldn't worry about it. That obviously didn't make me worry any less since, here I am, Googling it again.
I found this on the web. The reason that tears are formed is because in our anal sphincter we have three areas that hit the same part of our brain that gives the command to form tears. I do the same thing. I thought it was just because pooping, like crying, is a cathartic (physical) release.
The parasympathetic nerves get their signals crossed. Its genetic. Totally as normal as someone having brown eyes and their friend having blue eyes. It doesn't hurt you. But it doesn't go away either. It happens to me daily.
Is that true??! My god, an answer!!!! Thanks
