So... I'm pretty much new to the world of running and am in need of some advice from you less than novice folk :)

I've been running for a couple of months now (trying to get ready for a 10k in April) and I've slightly improved, until tonight.

Mind you, I live in upstate NY and it's freaking freezing here. So I go out tonight and 2.5 miles into it BOOM! my legs feel like wood and eventually just stop working. They felt bruised and sore instantly. WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED? I run every other day and always at the same time... can it be the decline in temp?

I suck at running to begin with so this defeat does not make me happy :(

HELP!
