Hi All, I read all views side effect of evening primrose supplement. I am sure that evening primrose can stop periods and disturb the menstrual cycle. I am currently facing this issue. My advice stop taking the evening primrose pills, let your system get back to normal. However, it's effective on some issues like mine tingling's and numbness on my feet also sore nerves, I am over that but I haven't had my period as yet it's over the month and feeling discomfort

I have been taking evening primrose oil for everyday for 3 months because I read that it might help with my acne. It didn't, and I did not get my period while I was taking the EVO (Superdrug 500mg capsules). 2 days after I stopped taking the EVO, I got my period and ironically, my skin condition improved as well. Side note: I am 24 years old.

I am 33years and have a 27 days cycle. After I started on evening primrose oil I had cramps and few spotting on 27th day but no periods. I am delayed over a week which has never happened. I am going to stop it to see if there is any change. My general practitioner says not to use it as it is known for irregular periods

Hi, I'm 40 and recently started EPO on the advise of my doctor. Period is now 4 days delayed (I'm like clockwork) but I'm experiencing all the symptoms that I normally have with a cycle. This is the 1st time I've taken EPO and had never missed a cycle....well only when I was pregnant .

See I’m having a similar issue to the lady above but I endometriosis, PCOS and aedomoysis I’m always in excruciating pain and as soon as I started taking evening primrose oil it has completely stopped but also stopped my period.

So I don’t know if I want it checked out because I’m pain free for the first time in a long time. What are your thoughts?

Hey, I hope you see this! I have endometriosis also. This actually may benefit you if you do not have a period. It is very beneficial to women with endometriosis to stop their cycle, such as with pregnancy. I had a baby last September (2016) and my symptoms improved greatly. My doctor told me that pregnancy is considered to be the only "cure" (I use that loosely). However I do not know how this can affect fertility if you are trying to have a baby in your future.

I started taking 1,000 mg of evening primrose oil during the first 14 days of my luteal cycle last month in February 2020. My period is now over twenty days late. I had heard that it helped to reduce moodiness and improve skin and hair hence my decision. Unfortunately, my period never arrived and I have all the premenstrual symptoms; sore breasts, thirst, fatigue etc. I have seen countless women post on this site as well as others on how evening primrose oil can cause irregular and missed periods. So I’m glad I’m not alone. Yet, I’m frustrated and don’t know when or if my period will comeback. I’m only in my thirties and would desperately like to have a normal cycle again!
