Hello, 30 year old male here. I've been afraid of engaging in sexual intimacy with my girlfriend due to concerns and discomfort about my foreskin. I am uncircumcised. I can pull the foreskin back to leave the glans exposed both when I'm flaccid and also when erect (though the latter feels a bit more difficult).
Am I right in thinking for most men, during sex, the foreskin will be swept back on each inward stroke and then pulled forward again over the glans on each withdrawal stroke? During masturbation I leave the foreskin forward over the head and it feels perfectly comfortable.
However, when I have attempted sex with my girlfriend the foreskin tends to get pushed back behind the head causing discomfort (and the issue is, it doesn't easily glide forward again).
The fear and uncertainty I have around this issue is making me avoid attempting sex altogether. Would leaving the foreskin retracted during daily life perhaps help to ease this discomfort?
Thanks in advance.

Hi yellowing, I take it by discomfort you mean the sensitivity of the glands when uncovered?

Hi, I'm referring to the fact it doesn't freely move back and forth - when I'm erect, it can get bunched up behind the glands which causes discomfort. And yes, I am referring to that sensitivity.

The reason it bunches up could be because your foreskin opening is still a little on the tight side going by what you say about pulling it back when erect.
What you can do is try some stretching exercises to make the opening looser so it slips back easier, there are a few ways you can do this first off try insering your little fingers in the end of the foreskin and stretching it open like that, when stretched as much as you can hold for 30 seconds an repeat 10 times twice a day an see how you get on also try rubbing some baby oil into your foreskin to help soften it an make the skin stretch better.
See how you get on with that any noticeable results may take up to a month to show.
If you want to loose some of the glands sensitivity you can always wear your foreskin back either through the day or night an that will help to thicken the skin covering the glands.
See how you get on and if you get on with an let me know if you have any more questions.

Hi @blankcanvas002, thanks for the advice. I'm a little bit squeamish about doing the stretching exercises but for the last few days I have started retracting the foreskin during the day in order to reduce the sensitivity.
Let's say I do this for another month and the sensitivity in the glands is reduced / no longer painful to the touch.
If I then wanted to attempt to have sex, would I put the condom on my penis while the foreskin is forward (glans covered) or with it retracted (glans exposed)?

There is really nothing to be squeamish about stretching the foreskin as it very tough and would take one hell of a force to rip it, another way you can try stretching it is to pull it back while erect so its on the widest part the glands then clench you anal muscles so blood get forced into the glands and try to hold it as long as you can and repeat the exercises as previously said.
I would say if your keeping your foreskin back all day you should notice a lot of the sensitivity the sensitivity will be gone after 2 weeks, if you also keep the glands washed so it remotest slimy texture an just feels like dry skin that will help a lot, some people recommend cleaning the glands with rubbing alcohol.
The correct way to put a condom on is to retract the foreskin first so the glands are exposed but some guys who have a very long foreskin sometimes find it hard to roll the condom over the bunched up skin behind the glands if they are unable to pull it all the way down the shaft of the penis.

OK cheers. If I were to put a condom on in that manner am I right in thinking I should expect to have sex with the foreskin remaining retracted throughout? I suppose I could try masturbation like that in the first instance to see how it feels (up until now, I have only ever masturbated with the glands covered).
But as you say, once the sensitivity has gone, things should be more manageable. Even though it's only been 4 days or so I think I am feeling improvements, i.e. it doesn't feel as painful/sensitive to the touch as it was before.
Sorry for the questions. Most things in life come with an instruction manual, but this is something of a grey area.

It will depend how much loose shin you have on the shaft whether the foreskin stays back or not and also how tight it is behind the glands.
As soon as the skin on the glands start to dry out you will notice they will get less sensitive.
Questions are no problem and its always good to help, nothing in life ever come with instructions worse luck lol
