With the natural herbs you took in the past.. Wouldn't going on them for two weeks then off for one week then back on for two weeks etc continuing this way.. Would the breaks not prevent the body from getting resistant to the herbs? (or some other 'on and off' program. The herbalist should know the best program for those herbs.)
What were the herbs you were taking and can you get them at any health store? If not, where could I get them? I'd like to try them.

Thank you!

I have owned a tanning salon for over 7 years now and we have many clients that have shown that their eczema has greatly improved with the UV light with the only side effect being a nice tan. It is not in your best interest to stay on a prescription drug for any length of time and it is only treating the symptms not the cause. I would also recommend a natural supplement that you drink. Treatment from the inside out.

Question: do you guys apply sunscreen, lotion, etc when you tan? I think I am going to give this a try. I always thought I grew out of my eczema in high school and college. But I realize I was visiting the tanning bed somewhat often during those years. My eczema returned at age 25, two years ago and I'm getting desperate.

this comment is very true. ocean water and uv rays helps improve eczema and keep it calm. I went to the beach for a week, the first time I got in the ocean water after a couple of years it burned because of my eczema then just laying out in the sun and the salt water helped it I guess because the rest of the week I never burned and my skin was clear, I could swim in the ocean comfortably. if I could live there I would just for my skin. and I love the beach. :)

I am 56. Suffered from eczema and dry skin all my life. Just name it and I tried it. I will try something, it works for a couple of weeks/months then quits working. Trying to stay off steroid creams and prednisone. Dermotogist finally told me to go tanning. I always noticed a week on beach and sun I cleared up. Tried it and it helps dramatically. Not a cure all. I tan twice a week during winter months for 7 minutes per tanning. Was warned not to exceed. It works. On my 3rd year. I am outside and active during summer. Still get breakout but tolerable.

It's the only thing that helps me and the best part about it is that your body needs very little exposure to the UV lights to keep symptoms supeeased. Don't need to over do it!

Try apple cider vinegar or read up on it. It cleared up my sons eczema. Sun cleared up the scaring. Thanks for your post. I will try tanning bed for the parts that don't get sun. Good luck.

For the last 10 years, my eczema has been pretty bad. I have tried every OTC and home remedy known to man. The only thing that helps me is exposure to Vitamin D, more specifically D3, found in natural sunlight and tanning beds. Every time I have a flare up, I spend weeks using lotions, oils, creams and the like bc I keep thinking I can control it. And every time I end up doing 4 or 5 stand up tanning bed sessions for 6-8 minutes each. It helps tremendously. I notice a difference after just 1 session. I highly recommend trying it!!
