I've had health issues (gyneo) for years now and the doctors are still stumped as to what it is. I'm 19 and have been diagnosed with all sorts but am yet to find the real issue! I'm now having to do a smear to check for abnormal cells after my laparoscopy for suspected endo wasn't a success. They found a 'thickening' on my cervix and removed it but during the biopsy it was only tested for endo. So yeah, my question is wouldn't they have noticed if there was abnormal cells while they were in there?! Or is that something they wouldn't see? Please help! :( Thanks!!!

Hi Guest,

Not necessarily.  I am 38 and always had problems with my periods since a young girl.  In fact I had such problems that after having my girl at 35 I had my tubes tied and thought that after having a baby my periods would get lighter and less painful as some people and my mom said that it happened to them.

Not to me!  Unh hunh, no way they came back and WAY worse than ever.  They were more heavy, would soak a pad in a hour or so and taking percocets for the pain and they weren't even strong enough usually.  I ended up in the ER far too often.

I got a referral to my gynecologist that delivered my daughter and he did my hysterectomy.  Was the best decision I ever made for my health.

Now to the point of all this: same as you I had lots of laparoscopies searching for reasons and never finding answers.  Until they did my hysterectomy.  They found at that time something wrong with everything they took out; blocked tubes, wonky uterine lining and something with the cervix but I don't remember - I kept my ovaries so that I would not have to be on hormones for life.

So yes it is normal that they don't find anything.  They may later on in life after you are done having children.

Good luck and hope this helps

YOu worried too much. Doctors are careful. Why are you choose surgery? Surgery has its risk. Actually, herbal medicine named SPAM can help you to eradicate endometriosis. Though it may work slowly, it can eradicate this disease and doesn't have any side effects. .. I hope it can help you.

I didn't tell her to choose surgery I was telling her that they didn't find anything wrong with me at all during my laporoscopies either. Just letting her know it's totally normal.
