I went on YAZ to correct severe pre-menstrual depression and moodiness, but it ended up causing much more of a problem for me. While the YAZ helped my moodiness and depression, I lost a ton of weight and started experiencing abdominal pains, as well as other reproductive side effects mentioned in other posts (fatigue, loss of sex drive, cramping, month-long spotting, etc.).
After 4 months I couldn't take it anymore and I asked my doctor to go back on the Yasmin, which I had been on for 3 years before going on YAZ. Immediately after stopping the YAZ all of my side effects went away, except for the abdominal pains. I recently found out that I have a tumor in my liver, and every doctor and specialist I have seen believes it to be brought about by the YAZ.
DO NOT TAKE THIS PILL. Whatever you are experiencing that makes you consider switching to it is not worth the suffering I have been through these past 6 months. I would never wish this on my worst enemy!
