Is it dangerous to get a 10 year IUD and take it out sooner than 10 years?
A 10 year IUD would mean that it has a life span of 10 years. Meaning it would be effective for 10 years. If you choose to have it removed by a qualified medical professional before the 10 year period us over, there would not be harm to you. It would be a good idea to have the placement of the IUD checked periodically during that 10 year period. Just think, a person probably would not use an IUD that would require them to keep it in for 10 years, right. Work with your medical professional if you choose to have it removed....Good luck !
