My 14 month old daughter has swelling on the right side of her lower lip and and also on a spot the diameter of a quarter and the thickness of a vanilla wafer on her left hand. My wife called me at work, 45 minutes away. She said it was much worse before I got home and she has given her infant's tylenol at this typing it has been 110 minutes since the dose of .8ml as per pediatric intructions in previous situations. At 3 hours past dose I will give her a dose of Infant's Ibuprofen. I hope the swelling goes down, but I can't figure out the cause. She is eating regularly eaten food, no new juices, It's possibly the laundry detergent but if it were wouldn't have swollen the whole lip and hand? Also it's the same detergent for the better part of a week. I'm inclinded to think it is, but not sure. Any suggestions? please. Thank you.
The detergent is indeed one possible cause of allergy. Try hydrocortisone cream on her swollen left hand to see if it helps. Use less detergent the next time you wash your clothes, or rinse the clothes more thoroughly.
