I turned 15 and I've only gotten my period once so far, i'll be 16 in one more month. Any other times I was just spotting. My mom is worried about me, and I'm not sure why, I've also heard that getting your period when your 15 is late? (How long dose it take for your period to be stable?) I'm so confused and need some help. I need to know if I have to go to the doctor. Perferably I don't want to get my period, but it is a part of life, and a sign that I'm healthy. I'm starting to wonder if I'm not. On a side note, for as long as I can rember, I've always had a bit of yellow (pee?) in my underware. I've told my mom about it along time ago, and I did go for a check up. I still do this, and I was wondering if this is somthing I should worry about? And if other women or girls have to deal with this too.
Hi, at what age was you when you got your first period?
Your mum is right to be worried about you as what you are describing doesn't seem quite normal really and I think you should go see a doctor about it just to be sure :-)

I had just turned 15 when I got it, a week tops after my birth date.

I know you can have one then they can be a little unsettled but not sure you should have missed them for all that time though.
The best person on here to talk to would be lizardqueen420 about it and if you would like I'll send her a message to read your post :-)

Hi, glad to try to help and be of assistance, just remember that I will also recommend you make an appointment with a gynocologist as they are the doctors with the most expertise in this area. What I know are a couple of things. As a young teen girl in today's world and society's views are that you should be very thin which is actually very unhealthy for the human body, I am going to ask if you are at a healthy weight and body mass index for your height and weight? If not, then your body will not ovulate and have a period as it will protect against possibly having a baby as a female at no matter the age, the main goal for having your period is conception aka having a baby. Being a healthy weight is optimal for so many reasons and having a period is one of them. Also, if your mom went through puberty late in life than chances you will too, just ask your mom. Does your body show normal puberty elsewhere, as in breast growth, pubic and armpit hair? When is the last time you have had a blood count/check done? Maybe you are anemic or low iron and your body is reserving blood, just a possibility. Hope that some of this can help you out, it will at least get you thinking - post back if you have any questions anytime!

I am not over weight or under weight for my age. I am chubby, but I always have been. This information was very helpful! Thank you, I will talk to my mom about it once she gets back.

Thank you both. :)

If you are normal weight or even a little larger and seem to have gone through puberty then you should be having your period already and be pretty regular already at 15. I don't think it's something to worry about, just something to be checked out by your doctor. You'll get your hormone levels checked to make sure they are normal as those are usually what bring on a period and ovulation.

Hi Ms Question Blank canvas also asked me to poke my nose in, but I've been away for ages so this is probably waay too late (sorry) I'm not gonna disagree with anything lizard queen advised. In my view though is you were just 15...like the week of your birthday is ok, then it might take 6 months to level out with some ppl. There is no harm in going to a Dr though. I recall one of my friends was I think 17 or just about 18, when her mom dragged her off to the Dr as she had not yet started her periods. She was short and teeny in size (that's just how she is) and everything else seemed to be fine with development but she had not yet got her periods. This was a longtime again and comes from overheard 'adults (our moms) conversations so dont take it as gospel. I seem to recall the Dr saying she was healthy and just hang in. Today years on she has three lovely kids, sometimes some ppl are just a bit slower than others, and a few decades back 15 was considered about right, but as the yrs have gone on girls seem to get younger. My advice would be as above give it some time see if it settles on it's own, but if you/your mom are concerned sure go along to the DR there is no harm in them taking a look. omg I sound so old decades lol I'm not my friend was just older than me, which is why I cant recall the details properly-and was not included in the conversations.
