I am a 22 year old female who had a colectomy when I was 15. I have everything hooked up so I can go to the bathroom normally, I don't have a colostomy bag. I have never had anal sex before, and honestly never thought I would even consider it... But you know how love can be... My boyfriend really enjoys anal sex and I would like to try it with him but I am unsure if it is safe? Is it safe for me to do it? Could it cause any problems with my "hook up"? Am I at a higher risk for injury? Could it hurt him in some way? I know that occasionally some digestive fluids can make there way to the end, if that happened during anal sex could it hurt him? If anyone could offer me some insight I would be very grateful. Thanks for reading!
I really think you need to talk to your doctor about this. There are many variations of a colectomy so we don't know how "radical" a procedure you had or what was done when you say "hook up."
I don't think you will hurt him, I am concerned for your health. You may be at higher risk of injury.
Please talk to your doctor. You will not surprise or shock him/her with this question so don't be shy. Your health is on the line. If the recommendation comes back not to do it, your boyfriend should understand.
Keep us posted. Good luck.
