I had surgery 4 wks ago with 3 screws in first 3 metatarsals and k-wires in the last 2. I've been in a air cast/walking boot for the past 3 wks. I started having pain in my calf about 2 wks ago which seems most pronounced when I have my boot off. It pretty much disappeared for several days last week and now it's back with a vengeance and hurts over a larger area of my calf. I'm thinking it's muscular since if it was a clot I think it would not have stopped hurting and would continue whether or not I have my boot on. Anyone have any advice? Thanks!
Start stretching your muselces out. Change the angle of your feet to get the best stretch.

Hi there,
I am not really sure how long does your pain lasts but I think that four weeks is still early for full recovery for this kind of surgery. You have to understand that your surgery is not simple and that you will notice a lot of pain during your recovery. Can you tell me if you talked to your doctor about using pain killers for the pain? I think that you will be able to use pain killers during the recovery but you have to talk to your doctor first before taking any medication on your own. I hope that this helped you in any way.

All the best,
Danella
