Dam I have a buddy that smoked weed around me and I inhaled by mistake and ever since I just been feeling very weird . Like am I really living this life I ask my self or am I really here I ask my self . But I think that it's gonna go away sooner or later because it can't be with you forever it's just the weed that mess's with your head . But now I hate my friend fr doing this to me it feel's like the only way I could get out of this is by killing my self but I wouldn't do that even if I was going crazy . What has been making me feel better is drinking lot's of water , taking shower's & also getting lot's of sleep because that will make it go away quicker . Im not no docter im only 14 and I smoked at least 6 time's in my life & I don't plain on doing it again because it scare's the sh#t out of me . But guy's jus get your mind off of it and it will go away , it's that simple. The weed is just playing around with your brain . Dnt freak out !

Something that i think you guys ought to know, especially those who are teenagers. Your brain is still developing, you have not yet reached mental maturity (no matter how socially mature you may be) smoking lots of pot in your teenage years can really damage your long term mental health. If you are really felling like your life is not real and you are getting depressed then do not smoke pot (not that i recommend that you do anyway) it can be fun to be high, but it can also screw with your head very badly.
If you find yourself in this kind of daze then just be calm, think of stuff you know is real, like freinds and family (good advice whoever said it) rehydrate by drinking water, stop smoking (at least until you feel better) and wait it out with nice stuff that makes you feel warm and fuzzy - duvets, teddys, warm socks - whatever makes you feel good.
If you are experiencing these effects for more than a few hours then it may be that your brain cant take it and is telling you that you should not smoke pot at all. Schizophrenia is not common and can lay dormant in your brain and, for some, never be triggered, but Pot can be a trigger, so if you really feel odd and like everything is fake, for a long time then i recommend going to see a psychiatrist.
Seriously, I have seen people mess themselves up badly over drugs. Personally I was one of the lucky ones, I got away with smoking quite a lot for a very long time, but I know people who cant touch it because of effects like this. DONT MESS YOUR HEADS UP GUYS, YOU ARE WORTH MORE THAN THAT.

hey i know how you feel and it's normal. What you have is a disorder called derealization you can get this disorder from smoking pot.

Hi there.
I have had the exactly the same sensation now for 5 months.
What you have is Anxiety mixed with disassociation. It is NOT a disorder, you do NOT have a permanent problem and your NOT going crazy!
The term "Anxiety" seems alot smaller than the sensation, but anxiety covers a very wide set of emotions and can lead to panic attacks and feelings of dread.
If you are seriously thinking about suicide:
a) REMEMBER suicide is a permenant solution to a temporary problem!
b) GET HELP it is obviously too much emotion for you to store inside you.

Once you get to grips with it, it is very easy to live with and very easy to forget and over time it will go.
I know exactly how you feel. I also started experiencing it after using weed. This sensation that "everything is fake" or "living in a dreamworld", where you expect to wake up at any time, is common and is extremely hard to describe. There is also this huge urge to put a name to it so that you know exactly what is wrong with you. At first I thought i was very ill and so i went to the doctor and got a whole range of blood tests, in which everything was fine. I then wrongly viewed it a schizophrenia for over a month because that was the closest thing i could think it was like.
So i went to a psychiatrist and have now been going for over 4 months. It still hasn't gone away completely and sometimes i do still get panic attacks randomly but it helps a lot. She helped me and still does help me to realise it isnt a big mental problem it is a phase, it will pass. She is also very good at showing me how to cope when i get these feelings of panic.

Share how you feel with your family, it will help and they will help you through it.

Develop new hobbies, doing things will help take your mind off of it. (thinking about it will only make it worse).

STOP LOOKING OVER THE INTERNET FOR A NAME. The internet is the worst doctor in the world. Look around about a sore throat and you apparently have throat cancer! In the same way you will just be told you have schizophrenia and it wont go away, which is a lot worse than anxiety is and nothing like what you have.

When you feel the start panic take deep breaths and remember it is all in your mind and you are perfectly safe.

AND an absolute must with dissociation is that you get off the drugs, I used to be a stoner and stupidly carried on smoking strong weed through the start of this "phase" and it only made things worse. Depressive drugs will increase the level of anxiety, stimulative drugs will make the you concentrate on your sensations even harder so you will have more of a chance of developing a panic attack. Hallucinogenic drugs will just convince you more that you are living in a fake world.

Its not easy to get through but it is possible!

hope this helps

hey. yeah my friend. 2 nights ago i smoked a joint filled with hash & marijuana leaves. it was my second time i smoked this. i'm having the same feeling after about 2 days of smoking it. i feel somehow dumb & unreal & a bit disoriented. its like sometimes i cant find myself but when i blink again & see everything's around me like it was before, it makes me calm down & i feel real again. actually its a process of going & coming. i also find my memories a little far from me. i have to think more about those things which i didnt use to think much about them. now i only curse myself why i did it that night & i hate drugs now especially hash & pot. i'm afraid of even trying beer or alcohol. i will never use drugs in my life. i hope i can get better. if you or anybody else in here had or is having the same problem please email me at _[removed]_ & help me get better. thank you :-)

Well after 2 months that feeling is finally gone, but now I feel as my right eyes is drifting away, and I get double vision. God, can one smoke of weed really cause that much damage to you? :/

Hi there, the exact same thing happend to me. However don't worry too much - what's happend to you is that the weed was the final trgger to you feeling ''totally out of it''- your body is out of balance now and this is why you're feeling like you're in a dream and that life isn't real. Don't worry, your body can always heal itself- give your body exactly what it needs- ie good nutrition and exercise and it will start mending itself and you will start feeling good again.

Good luck and chat to me if you have any questions.

Regards

Richard

Omg I've felt the same f*****g thing, this post makes me feel SO MUCH f*****g BETTER. about a year ago this same thing happened. after waking up from smoking weed, I all the sudden felt like everything around me was fake and i was dreaming, my heart rate went up insanely high, and the faster my heart started beating the more scared i became. and i didn't wanna tell my parents what was going on cuz i didn't want them to freak out. And I didn't want to search it on the internet because i was afraid to come across something saying that whats going on means i'm bat sh*t crazy and i need to be thrown in a nut house. I'm happy to see people are going through the exact same thing as me. and after a year I've just though about it less and i never really think about it at all anymore, but this post has truely put my heart at ease. Thanks guys.

I found this thread about a week ago after suffering from the same effects as described in the original post, and by other posters. I'm in my mid-20's, and used to smoke weed all the time, however I haven't smoked since I was in my teens. About a week ago I lit up a joint, took a few drags, got stoned, and put it out. I had a great high. The next night I did the same thing - just a couple small hits. However, this time I felt the effects more, and had an intense/panicky high. It was over within a few hours, but the next night some of the effects came back. I of course started to panick, because that's never happened to me before.

Anyhow, I know what you were going through. I made it a point to register and share my experience for those of you who are going through this weird feeling as we speak. It could be over within a day, or it could take a week, maybe longer. But you'll come through it. It really is in your head - but it seems to trigger extreme anxiety - it gives you thoughts that you'll never shake the weird feeling. you will!

I'm still feeling a tad weird/not quite back to normal, but it's MUCH better than a week ago. Every day is better. What helped me was drinking a lot of water, eating healthy and being around people. Whatever you do, you need to tell yourself it's in your head. This feeling is no joke - it's quite powerful. Those of you who have never experienced this have no clue, and I hope you never have to go through it.

If you've gotten this feeling from smoking, you need to come to the realization that weed ISN'T for you. Chances are the same sh*t will happen again. Don't smoke it again (I know I'm not going to). If you need a crutch, try drinking alcohol, working out etc......just not the weed. Marijuana isn't for everybody, unfortunately (it was fun while it lasted, I had some great times).

If you're going through this, hang in there. I know I was freaking and wanted to here a success story, because time goes by so slow and you just want the feeling to go away -- I'm here to tell you, it does.

I wouldn't worry to much, I've gone through the same thing. THC gets stored in your fatty cells in your body and stay there up to 2 months depending on how much you have smoked. Just stop smoking and wait it out and you will eventually start to feel better. I used to smoke a joint or two a day for about 4 years and had to stop because i started having the same feel you are having now. Drink a lot of water and flush your system clean.
