My 7yo son had his adenoids and tonsils removed yesterday morning.   Yesterday went surprisingly easy, I'm sure today will be worse since the anesthesia will have worn off.

He did vomit on way to recovery room yesterday and when he drank too much applejuice at once.  Tried to warn him on that one :-(

Anyway...yesterday he said pain was a zero all day....we got home around 1pm and I gave him ibuprofen at 1:30...loratab about 4:30...ibuprofen at 8pm and then loratab around 11:30pm.

He woke up at 5am this morning with a bad coughing fit (I did have the humidifier in his room on high so I dont think his throat was dry but maybe so).  Led to cuddling on couch, having a popcicle and drinking ice water.  Unfortunately he did throw up about 10mi later.   GAve him some ibuprofen and sent him back to bed.  It's almost 8am and he's still sleeping.

Any tips or tricks for today?    YEsterday he was able to eat applesauce and lukewarm scrambled eggs.

Hi Awd,

I hope your son is feeling better.

Soft foods like the eggs are definitely best.  If the apple juice is upsetting him find him something easier today.

Jello, ice cream, mashed potatoes, eggs, even some soups should go down easily.  He probably shouldn't be sucking on a popsicle yet.
