I'm 16 years old (male) and for about 2 months now I've had a feeling of tighness or in my rectum. The onset was very raipid, I literally noticed it one day after I woke up. I thought I had to have a bowel movement, but I didn't. I thought it was constipation, and saw a couple doctors which prescribed laxatives but the feeling remained. When the problem first arose, my stool seemed smaller and less in terms of the amount passed. After that I started getting mushy stools, but it seems to be back to normal now. I've had no prior problems with my bowels or anything like that. The best way I can describe the feeling is before the problem occured I felt like I could "clench" my sphincter (?) muscle completely, but now I feel like I cannot.
Does anybody know what this could be, or has anyone had a similar problem. I've pretty much ruled out cancer or anything too serious because of my age, but I just don't know what this is.
Any help is appreciated.

I don't think that anything is wrong with you but you are describing something that should still be investigated by a proctologist if you are able to talk to one. Just ensure that what's going on is not out of the ordinary. Can you let me know what the proctologist says?
I was beginning to think it was internal hemorrhoids, but I've had it for too long it seems. Could it be a lump or polyp in my rectum that creates the sensation of the tightness?
I'm still deciding on whether to see a doctor again or not, but if I find anything out I'll let you know.

I agree with healthfittness guy, that you really should go see a proctologist. It still possibly could be internal hemmoriods, even if its been awhile, because they can last a really long time! I should know, I dealt with them for years until I finially had them removed. I'm not quite sure if that's what you're dealing with or not though. If you have been straining a lot on the toilet and/or constipated, it could possibly be internal hemmoriods. I would go get it checked. At least you can then have peace of mind.-Wendy
