hi guys im 18.
i found a lump on my left testicle about a year ago. but never took it serious. about 2 days ago i was reading some stuff on the internet about testicular cancer. and the causes of it and i found out that marijuana users have a higher risk of developing cancer. since i been smokin almost everyday for more than a year ago. after readin that i got really scared and spent all the night cryin myself out and thats not something normal since everybody sees me as a tough guy that never cries. anyways the day after i read all that stuff about testicualr cancer my mom made an apoinment to go to the doctor. and so went today and the doctor told me to get an ultra sound to make sure what it is. now im just waiting for the hospital to call me to go get the ultrasound. and promissed to god that wether is a cyst or cancer im gona stopp smoking weed. and this upcoming sunday im gona go to church to pray.
im really afraid ive been thinkin about it all day long i cant even sleep wish me luck . :'( :'( :-(

Just to put most of you at rest, I have 3 cysts on my right testicle (yes 3) 2 small ones at the front and 1 increasing large one at the back. I know this because i've had an ultrasound. There really is nothing to worry about, the only annoying thing I would say is that the big one at the back gets infected like clockwork every 2 years or so give or 3-6 months, this can start as a dull ache and if left untreated can result in agonising pain with cold sweats and looking like something out of one of the aliens films (throbing etc). Sometimes it can be brought on my sitting funny for too long, bike riding is a no no, and heavy lifting also bad. If anyone has these symptoms go to the doctor tell them you think you have an epididimal cyst, he/she (after an exam) should give you some anti biotics for the infection and depending on how advanced the infection is you might get some cocodomal (v strong pain killers) else you just get told to use ibuprofen.

Hope this helps peeps!

Hi a couple of weeks ago i noticed a small stringy lump of which seems to be coming out of my right testicle that has a lump at the end of it? it doesnt hurt when left alone but when expected for closer examination it really causes some uncomfort, ive also experienced a shooting pain down my right leg of which im quite sure has something to do with my sciatic nerve, ive been to my doctors for an ultra sound and to no prevail the doctor 'claimed' he could'nt see anything, i also get a wierd sensation of twitching of the urethra tube underneath behind my sac? and of which sometimes swells during erection? please someone help me to diagnose these trivial problems.

my husband has recently been told he most likely has one of these cysts but that the gp wants it scanned to make certain its not cancer. it could take a few weeks to get the referral, i'd like to pay for him to go private its around £200, but hubby is a bit reluctant to spend this kinda money. what do you guys think- is it worth it for the peace of mind.
What would you do?

I had the same problem, out of nowhere, all of a sudden i noticed a small ''lump'' under my right testicle, immediatly i started doing research on it and thought it was testicular cancer, was extremely paranoid and stressed (literally couldnt sleep at night for a few days), i went to see my doctor, i wasnt embarrassed at all because i wanted to know what it was so i could relax if it wasnt cancer, or take the right steps to get it resolved if it was. Doctor told, checked me out and said it was a cyst and prescribed me pain killers, told me to see him in a month if it doesnt clear or if it dont stop hurting. i was so relieved and my mind has stopped thinkin about it as much however i still get discomfort not so much pain but like a piece of rice pokoing out and rubbing agaisnt some sort of vein or something. Just somethin il have to live with.

Hey everyone i had a small worry when i discovered a lump on the top rear of my testical i went to see my doctor where he carried out an examination then to my suprise he told me it not on the testical its in the tube and classed it as a cyst. He then referred me to the Royal Bolton Hospital to have an ultra sound on my right testical where unfortunately the consultant could not find the cyst so he proceeded to check both testicals for tumars i got the all clear so heads up guys usually these cyst's are nothing to worry about but you should always have them checked and most of the time its just puts your mind at rest. Im a 20 year old male and i know its a worry.

Hi all,

Its Tuesday today and I first felt this numb tickling kind of pain on my left testicle. Not excruciating pain - but more the knid of pain when it hurts to laugh. It also felt very tender, and my balls seemed to hang down a bit lower. It was on and oting worse at night. Walking was slightly impaired. Monday evening it got worse, and I was thinking hosoital that night.... I had pain killers and slept on it.

This morning, it felt a little better, but over the course of the day it got worse and more tender. By lunchtime it was quite painful and I was walking with my left leg at more of an angle. I also noticed that it had swelled a little. Felling for a lump was impossible as it was so tender. I made the decision to go to the hospital as it seemed to be getting worse - not better. I have just got back from an ultra sound scan (like 10 mins ago). I went in so anxious and nervous beforehand - I hate hospitals and even hearing medical terminology makes me nauseous!

Anyway, having flopped out it all out, I was told to go for an ultasound scan. This itself was quite painful as havng something gently rubbed on a tender and swollen bollock is not very pleasant. After the scan, I walked into the evaluation room (I am living in Korea now so it was all in Korean and being translated to me), and immediately saw the image and a scary looking black circle lying next to my left testicle. I felt like I was going into shock as I feared the worst - I picked out the word 'cyst' which I guess is the same in Korean. Worried sick, I was then told it is NOT cancer.

I feel so glad I went to the hospital to get it checked. Apparently it is that thing beginning with ephy.....is or whatever and is VERY common. I was told that 2 weeks of anti biotics should clear the puss filled cyst. Failing that, surgery will be necessary - but I hope it wont come to that. I'm annoyed as I had a booze fueled weekend planned so can't drink... although that may be a blessing in disguise!

Just feel relieved to know whats causing the pain and I can relax knowing that what I have is very common and is not cancer as I had feared having read symptoms that seemed to describe the feeling in my balls sack word for word.

Advice is - get it checked by a doctor and remember that swelling in the balls is very common amongst us chaps. Its more of an annoyance as it will implicate in the 3 great things in this world - women, beer and football!

Hey lads,
All the same symptoms as you, dull aching, heavy feeling balls, sensitive/uncomfortable to the touch.... Especially achy after a good session with the missus. Doc also said a cyst... going for an ultrasound soon but feel a lot better reading all of your similar posts.

I also get the shootingpain down back of leg and up into my groin.. similar feeling to a tendon pull or something.

Scary stuff guys, but 99% of the time,,,,, a cyst!!

Good luck to you all, and thanks for having the balls to share... :-)

Chris.
