Sounds like celiac disease. Often diagnosed with a biopsy and blood tests. My daughter suffers from the same symptoms as well. And it get pretty severe. A simple gluten free diet can help symptoms . Talk with your doc and if you have not had a biopsy ... demand one! Hope this helps :)

Hello,

I too have been experiencing all these symptoms....awful pain in my stomach during sleep....extreme back pain....tossing at night.....peeing temporarily relieves it.....I wake up in the morning and other than a tight back, the stomach pain somewhat disappears.  I do go #2 every morning, either right away or about an hour after being up.

I am a ballet dancer and rehearse 8 hours a day, eat majority quite healthy.  I have thought maybe a tight back was the cause but I feel it may have something to do with the intestinal track.

This page is very helpful though.  Going to seek out my doctor and hopefully get some results.

HI all Thort I'd join in this conversation; I have been getting pain on my lower right side most nights for a few weeks/months (noticing it more lately) and have to turn over to my left side or onto my back to get to sleep (which takes a while!) and decided to mention it to my new Doc (my usual one has retired). She has sent me for blood tests, which I am waiting results and go back in week or 2 for pelvic examination and maybe ultrasound after that. I also get pain in inner hip when walking sometimes and tops of thighs, which isn't normal me thinks. Sounds similar to a number of us!! I will post again with update soon...

I have the same problem. It's been going on for a while now. And also goes away when I get up for the day and walk around. It wakes me up in the middle of the night and mornings. I've gotten up in the middle of the night to go the bathroom but that doesn't help. It almost feels like I have to go like my bladders full and cramping telling me to get up and go, but that's not it. Once I've gone and Layed back down the pain still occurs. I've never had this before and I just don't get why this is happening. I've had my kidneys checked and bladder also checked which wasn't fun. Everything was normal. I've been focusing on my posture and also making sure I have the right pillows but that doesn't seem to matter either. Just want to know why this is happening...

Threw them out immediately! Next day stomach problems stopped!! LOOK AT WHAT YOU EAT PEOPLE!

Simple solution is go and visit a homoeopathy doctor. I too used to suffer from this sort of pain after sleeping in night. I took five pills of the homoeo medicine just once which the doctor has given. That's it worked like magic. Now I no longer get such pains.

Note: Consult not just any homoeo doctor but a good one.

I have had the same symptoms for about 20 years, so hopefully this may put your mind at some ease.

Early on I tried the doctor but he could not find anything serious but it was suggested that it is due due ones intestines stop working after 3 or 4 hours rest in some people which leads to a build up of gas in gut and also pressure on the prostate .

I've had the same problem for about two or three years now. I am 14. I have scoliosis and some hip tilting, and I have a hunch the scoliosis might be making my spine press down on some organs while I sleep on my stomach. I woke up this morning with worse stomach pain then usual. It hurts right about where my kidneys are, and then the entire stomach area pains as well. Using the restroom does not relieve this pain in me as far as I know. Breathing, laying down, and palpating the area make it hurt worse, while standing makes it suddenly go away after an hour or two. Hmm, maybe it's time for a doctors appt

I am 46 years old and have mild scoliosis and hip problems as well. I have had similar problems for a little over 2 years now; pain in my lower torso when lying down only and feeling of a full bladder. I too have had a similar hunch that organs are pressing on places they normally wouldn't if I didn't have these skeletal problems or that there are muscular issues are going on. I have seen several doctors and have had numerous tests done, all of which come back "fine". I was originally seen by an OBGYN who did not see any gynecological problems but was concerned about the full bladder sensation and sent me to a urologist. She did numerous tests (normal bladder testing, CT scan, and a bladder scope). All of my testing again came back fine; however, her opinion was that my uterus (which is tilted) was possibly pressing down on my bladder when lying down. My OBGYN followed up with an internal ultrasound and didn't necessarily agree with her opinion. I followed up with my regular doctor, who did an ultrasound, and who also said that everything was inconclusive. Very frustrating, but I thought you might like to know that I did have a doctor that thought something could be pressing on something else when lying down. Personally, I keep going back to thinking that this is a muscular issue. Best of luck to you.

Same thing guys and girls! *Pain* waking me up at night. I just had a Pelvic CT yesterday because Im thinking its related to the bladder. Im having a bladder endoscopy soon. I had a pelvic ultrasound two weeks ago to see if it was Uterus-related and everything was normal but was told I have fibroids..Ive had these bouts 4 times now this year and have treated it with an antibiotic thinking it was a UTI and on two occasions it was but not the other two but I took the medicine anyway..The pain usually goes away after the last dose of treatment but it seems to be brought on by intercourse a day or two after...Im going to see an OB GYN to rule out P.I.D.[Pelvic Inflammatory]..I was also referred to a Gastro doctor to possibly get a colonoscopy[Yikes Im SCARED to take these tests! lol] This pain is scaring me tho because its not normal so we shall see what happens..

My 5 year old son too suffered from severe pain around the navel area every night. He had no other symptoms, and was fine during the day. He was on calpol for couple of nights to relieve the pain. After 4-5 nights of recurring pain, I gave a medicine to de-worm him. Now he is better. So i think, de-worming might help in few cases. Also, i found that placing a hot water bag near the tummy relieved him of much pain.

I have similar issues but I really think it is food allergies or intolerance. I get the pain almost 30hrs after I eat any fried foods, bananas, gluten, processed foods etc. Very important to keep a food diary and see if you can see any patterns. Make sure you write every single thing you eat and drink for a month or so including how you feel, when you notice the pain. This will also help any Dr you see. I tested negative for celiac even with a family history too but I react to gluten so I simply can't eat it. Changing my diet to fruit, veges, very little meat makes a difference but I miss my junk food.

The gastro doc put me on Levsin to control the intestinal *spasms* and to stop me from waking up at 2am which was great because I was able to SLEEP the nite..We shall see what this diagnosis will be after the tests..STAY TUNED!
