Clearly, this condition isn't restricted to just one issue. I've seen people mention hernias, kidney stones, cysts, and anxiety.

The problems described, (Belly button pain, feeling like a cord connecting the bellybutton to the head of the penis and pain when standing up straight, breathing in deep, urinating.) all have happened to me, but I have no idea what it could be.

It almost only happens when I eat psilocin/psilocybin mushrooms, and VERY rarely does it happen when I haven't eaten any mushrooms. Maybe 2 or 3 times a year does it happen unprovoked.

Does anyone have a clue as to why I get this pain? (Clearly it's SOMETHING to do with the mushrooms, which is why I haven't eaten any in over a year, but this has been a burning question of mine for a long time, and I'd like better insight on what's actually causing the pain.)

My first guess would be  anxiety during the comeup of the experience, but I've also thought that maybe it wasn't psilocybin related at all, but rather cramping related to the digestion of the fungal material. It just doesn't feel much like an intestinal problem, more of a urinary tract/abdominal muscle problem. Also, when it happens, (during the trip) my extremities will get cold. (Blood pressure related maybe? Vasoconstriction?)

-Bookmarked this page because it's a constant issue for me. Most of you are saying this happens to you 4-5 times a year but I have been dealing with it 24/7 for the past 4 months.

-It all began in July and still goes on til this day. For the past 4 months I've felt 'Okay' probably 10 times the MOST. I can really relate to you people and I feel for every single one of you.

-I have had an MRI, Upper Endoscopy (found a haital hernia nothin serious though) CT Scan, 2 ER trips, Ultrasound, Antibiotics.. Cipro.. which has made my body extremely weak and nerve damage but that's a different story..

-From July until end of August I had pain from Belly Button to Bladder area. I thought it was IBS because I tried everything. Then, from September up til today, I have been having pains all over my prostate area (Penis, Testicles, Taint area, etc.). HORRIBLE. LIFE RUINED.

-I am due for a Cystoscopy from my Urologist in 3 weeks.

-BUT HERE'S THE GOOD NEWS- thanks to this thread, I advised my uro to refer me to a general surgeon and check for a UMBILICAL HERNIA and guess what.. I HAVE ONE.

-If the Cystoscopy comes clear I will probably get this small surgery done and hopefully live a normal life again.

-I ADVISE ALL OF YOU TO SEE A GENERAL SURGEON TO CHECK FOR THIS UMBILICAL HERNIA!!!

- Surgeon said it might not be the cause of all this but there is a possibility and to get a cystoscopy before any repair is done. he knew his stuff. talked to me for 30 minutes about this type of hernia.

- PLEASE NOT: It can also be something to do with the nerves. If the surgery doesn't get me back to 100% I am going to go to a doc who tests for Pudendal Neruralgia. It happens from a lot of physical activity  . ex: squatting .. which I did. There are only a few docs who specialize in this field because it's so rare but fortunately there is one located 20 min away! who charges $600 for a male visit!!!!!!!!!!! pathetic but at this point I have to do whatever it takes. If you are also having pain in the taint area, testicles, penis, it COULD be this

I know I wrote this very bad but I really hope it helps at least one of you. Best of luck to everyone i know the pain!

Ok so this feeling is in your urachus which is basically a tube that went from your bladder to your mothers bladder while in utero and there are still remnants in your body. I don't know what causes the pain. Try masturbating?

Guys it's okay, it's not because of your belly button or umbilical cord, i can't remember what it's called but it's just from excersising and then not excersising for a while (we'll at least in my case) I solved it by laying on my back and slowing stretching up touching my knees

Sorry I was wrong but it is still from excersising, it is from your rib cage squeezing your organs when you stretch, If you sit cross legged and lean forward grabbing your knees, you should start to feel better

The issue is without a doubt, some type of neuropathy related to the urachus. If anyone has had a nerve injection or surgery to clean up urachal scar tissue or nerve entrapment, please report in.

Note, this problem has nothing to do with gas, pooping, masturbating, drinking water, or lint in the belly button. It is some type of nerve damage, most likely an entrapment of some kind, we just have to figure out which nerve and the best way to fix the problem, which will likely be a nerve block or a small surgery. Let's figure this out together in 2014!

Please report in if you can!

To everyone who has posted about this pain PLEASE READ!!!

I have had this EXACT pain for 18 years and just figured out what it was yesterday ... via alot of reading and forcing my urologist to do an ultrasound on my abdominal area ... he was embarrassed when he discovered that I was correct in my diagnosis and he was wrong!!

I have a urachal abnormality ... they are "rare" ... 1 in 5000 ... especially in adults. That is why most doctor's dont even consider that possibility.

There are 5 different variation on them ... they usually are diagnosed in infancy/childhood ... if let go long enough they can cause complications that are bad ... sepsis, cancer, and other issues.

An ultrasound is a cheap, non-invasive, painless test.

FORCE your doctor to perform it ... I would even pay for it our of my own pocket... I wish I would have 18 years ago ... the pain I have dealt with has been awful.

Best of luck to all of you. Peace

Guest who posted about the ultrasound.  Please provide more details.  What did your physician find? What was he looking for? What is the treatment plan? This pain is 1. A result of a urachal anomoly. 2.  The result of a nerve traped within or to the anomaly.  Once someone can report in a diagnosis, method of diagnosis, treatment plan and results, we can all for forth and fix the problem and lead more productive lives! I have the exact same string feeling every once in a while. Today I had this and I believe that it was when I got shot with a paintball in the kidney at five feet away that it happened. So either exercise, not enough water or when there is too much pressure on the kidneys.
