I've finally found out what it is. My first response on this topic is on page 7 so you may want to go read that first. It all started in October of 2011 and I finally had the belly button to penis pain fixed this month which is February of 2012. I've been through all the test all of you have had and been to see countless doctors. The last doctor I went to see was a general surgeon and he said that the only thing left to do was to perform exploratory surgery, because no one could figure out what in the world this odd pain was. He said that it was a 50% chance that they would't find anything, but I didn't care anymore because I had to have this pain fixed. He performed the surgery and found a very small umbilical hernia. The CT scans had shown nothing because the hernia looked like it was actually my belly button. My pain had started to go away like some of you, but it turns out that hernias can actually start to somewhat heal themselves and the pain will seem to be getting better. After awhile when you notice that the pain seems to be getting agitated again, this is because the hernia is opening back up and the scar tissue is tearing once more. Hernias cannot heal themselves completely; they HAVE to be stitched up or else they'll keep opening back up. I know that exploratory surgery seems scary, and I was pretty scared to have it myself since they were just going in there to look for something that they had no idea what they were looking for. If I wouldn't have agreed to have it then I would still be suffering from this right now and into the future. Please consider talking to your doctors about this possibility because it's very likely that this is what you all are going through as well. The only scar it left was about a one inch cut barely bellow the belly button that led down into the belly button. It looks like an upside down " T ". I really hope that this is the same problem for all of you because it's a very simple surgery to perform and recover from. I've had kidney stones and passed them before and this was completely non-related to my condition unlike some of the others that have posted before me, but don't rule it out because not everyone's body is the same. I hope that this helps you all out, and exploratory surgery may be your best option. I was 18 years old when this started and I was 19 when it was fixed. I also had an "inny" belly button.

Thank you so much for replying. I think the small hernia sounds accurate to my situation seeing as the more I work my abs the less frequent and intense the pain is. Not to mention that when I don;t work my abs or exercise in general it tends to occur. I actually saw a urologist last week about something completely unrelated, but decided to ask him about it just in case he'd encountered it before and he tried and almost did convince me that sometimes "our bodies just hurt" . Would you mind telling me the name of the surgeon and his location just in case whatever surgeon I see needs to collaborate?

What I believe most of you are experiencing is nerve damage. More specifically damage to the illioinguinal nerve system and is most likely being caused from the T12 and L1 nerve roots clashing are even fussing together. Very few general practitioners would probably pick up on this due to it being seemingly rare and very difficult to diagnose. Your best bet would be to see a neurologist. These symptoms CAN be fixed by medication such as gabpentin.

Yea I'm 16 and I have this pain quiet a bit. My muscles have alwys been tight and it's easy for me to pull muscles. Like today I help my dad take down a wooden fence today and got back up from sitting down and I felt it. In the past 2 years I've had trouble. I say get as much potassium as possible. My dad says hernia to but I think it's lack of potassium.

I sometimes get the same thing, but here's a weird thing.... I had acupuncture a while back and they put a needle jut below my tummy button and I think they went a little too deep or something as I suddenly got that same sharp pain from my tummy button down to my penis. This makes me think the it is a nerve thing. I can also add that I got it recently having done no exercise for three weeks, lots of sitting about, and drinking coke zero (which is very high in caffeine). It has also been quite hot and i've notice my urine was quite yellow, so I guess I'm a bit dehydrated. Good work team. Keep it the comments!

somebody had written a reply that it was a very small umbilical herinia and thats what I think it is too, I've had the pain for 9 years and it makes sense because if it tears a little it hurts and if you work your abs when it's not flaring up I think it helps strengthen the scar tissue. The guy said he had exploratory surgery and that's how he found out.

Here's my story.  Approximately once a year I develop a sharp radiating pain from my naval to to the base of my penis, then a dull pain through the shaft to the tip of the penis.  This pain is escalated when the inner walls of the naval have pressure applied to them, or when I cause any body elongation between the naval and the penis (i.e. stretching, reaching, bending, or standing up straight).  If this pain is intensified then symptoms development such as; a tender testicle (in my case the right one) such as a pinched vas deferen, a throbbing pain from my tender testicle to the kidneys (a similar pain is felt if one is severely injured in the testicles), ending in lumbar back arches.  To trace the pain; naval to penis to testicles to kidneys to lumbar back.  I do not have any pain while micturating (urinating).  The course of events takes approximately one full day to manifest all symptoms.

I find relief when lounging comfortably or doubled over in a fetal position.  One occurrence of this disorder was accompanied my a short 'bout of Bell's Palsy.  When the Bell's Palsy was treated all M.D.'s involved ignored the disorder that I am dialoging in this post.  From that point I knew that the M.D.'s couldn't diagnose this disorder.  However, with my occurrences, they tend to only manifest in the fall (this year they are a little earlier, but that is not important when you take into consideration the atypical season), so I am leaning towards an infection of one sort or another such as a mild testicular infection.

This disorder is either naturally dispelled from the body via immune system, or other means in and around two to four days.

SOLUTION SOLUTION!!

I feel the same at times and my mom gives me a glass full of water stirred with 4 to 5 spoons of sugar in it. Or a glass of buttermilk with 2 to 3 spoons of sugar would surely be a pain reliever and it worked for me. I don't know the reason for the pain nor the solution though!

i am a master herbalist with a graduist degree from global college of natural medicine. it sounds like you might be suffering from one of two things. kidney or bladder stones or dirty bowels. antibiotics and antiininflammation herbal capsules do wonders and colon cleansing to get rid of sluggish bowles and parasitic bacteria does wonders. i give both to my son who has a history of stones and off and on bowel problems of going from constipation to direhhea.i make up his formulas and send him a box of these every 6 months to keep him from suffering from these problems.
