This was 2 months ago and since, me and my boyfriend have broken up and no longer speak. It probably was because of the termination but who's to say. I also had a contraceptive implant inserted in my arm which i was told could mess up my periods. Since my abortion i have not stopped bleeding although it is light, could it just be from the implant? I have not had a proper period since. Im worried my womb might be punctured or something and i dont really know anything about it. Because no-one else found out and me and my boyfriend broke up i have no one to ask and without his support i dont dare go to the doctors.
Wondered if anyone can help me? Just would like some information. I was never very well informed anyway and this has made me worry.
Do you think its gone wrong? My main fear is being infertile. I would love to have kids, just not when im 17. Am i less likely to be able to now? Also, ive heard im more likely to have a miscarriage and get Cancer?

The american cancer society openly states that abortion does not cause breast cancer, there were studies done by them. The american breast cancer foundation also says the same thing.
Your fertility returns right after an abortion. In the past, fertility problems associated with abortion were because of illegal abortion, it was unclean and caused MASSIVE infections which affected fertility. There are pro life groups out there which give false information, but you can find good info from the american cancer society and the CDC.(Centers for disease control)
The Implant causes irregular spotting and bleeding for the first 3-5 months of use, and some women may even lose their periods alltogether.

it makes me mad when all people like to do is bash on others for their private decisions.
if u dont have something nice to say, than keep it to ur damn self. this is a place for people to seek help, not discuss personal views and choices.
You is 3 crazy but so right

Some women take 4-5 weeks for a preganncy test to show negative, we are individuals, and the hormones can take awhile to exit our system.
Most docs say you should expect a period in 6-8 weeks.

Oh, I just wanted to say, you're being really selfish with this decision of yours. You're ending the possibility of a child living out his/her life because you "don't have time". Oh, and jhernandez, I noticed your other comment had the title, be an adult about this (or something like that), I think you're naive and selfish, like a child, by supporting this terrible act.
sounds to me like your the one that is selfish and playing god here. where do you get off judging others for private decisions. karma

I am also having an abortion. I have had 2 miscarriages and 1 child. I do use preventative measures; however, it failed! I am in no shape to financially, mentally, or physical have another child at this time or anytime in the near future.
I wish you the best of luck with your decision and your future!

I was forced to terminate my recent pregnancy because I have health issues that were killing me and my baby. I am sad that I couldn't keep my baby so I encourage you to make you "own" choice but fully consider a better reason to abort the pregnancy than "I don't have time".
I don't want to bash I just want to extend a helpful hand by reminding you to really think, because it might be hard to make the changes for a baby but you probably think it was worth it.
I suggest you visit http://www.plannedparenthood.org/ they will give you all the information you need without all the negativity.
And to the negative posters you listed all of the major side effects that very rarely occur and a lot of myth.
