I am about to start taking advair, and my husband and I are trying to start a family, meaning that I am trying to get pregnant. So, I was wondering if anybody knew if avdair could have any negative impact on implantation or child bearing once I conceived. I would appreciate your replies! Thank you
My sister is using advair, and I read that there aren’t any known risks to fetus, and that it is better to avoid it during pregnancy. However, there were some tests done on mice where increased implantation loss and fetal death was detected. So, I would suggest you talked to your doctor again about getting something else prescribed.
the study was in mice and caused a lot of problems including fetal death, cleft palet, fetal toxicity, growth retardation, and retarded cranial ossification, but I know someone who's having her 4th child (all on advair and albuterol) and they were all fine. I'm worried about this question also though as I was put on advair 2 1/2 weeks ago and found out 3 days ago I'm pregnant, but my doctor said to stay on it cuz if I can't breath and die we both die. Not much help as I had a miscarrage in may and don't want to have another one. For some reason it cut out my last sentince. You should always talk to your doctor first, and if you are trying to concieve you should tell your doctor and go in for a physical/check up before you try anyway. Your doctor should be able to go over all your concerns then.
