I also had my Gallbladder removed in 1983. 3 months after the birth of my daughter. I am also still having diarrhea off n on. And just resently, I,ve been seeing light colored stools. I also always have acid reflux. I get very bad pains in my stomach from the diarrhea. It doesn't get any better. 33 years later. Sorry.

I had my gb surgery this past March. I know I'm not as experienced as some of you. But I wanted to share. The first few weeks after coming home from hospital were terribly painful. I was afraid to move, afraid of the shower because I didn't want to fall, afraid to sleep because when I switched positions it hurt. The after about six weeks, my bra didn't hurt me anymore and I could wear it for a couple of hours. I then had 2 episodes of explosive diarrhea, almost had accidents. Now I seem to only have bile diarrhea or I'm constipated. Pain in my low back, nausea, vomiting, pain on my right side, almost consistent burning reflux and gas, and hot flashes. I had a hysterectomy in 1985, I shouldn't be having hot flashes now. It does not matter what I eat, some days. I'm just so glad to read that I'm not the only person going through this weirdness. Thank you, for letting me vent. M. Grigsby

Try taking ox bile tablets (1 or 2 tablets) before you eat. This is found in the health food store.

Probiotics and enzymes will not work for this problem. You need to take ox bile tablets before you eat.

Hi,
Since this post is a year old, I hope someone can still reply.
I'm having identical symptoms. Only difference is constipation, but could be due to the pain meds. I'm 3 days post surgery and hoping this will all go away soon.
My diet consists of clear liquids and crackers. I eat small amounts several times a day because I too get pain if I eat too much or too heavy.
How long before you started feeling better? And, is this normal?

Sucralfate 1gm Tablets, Hyoscyamine 0.125mg Sublingual Tabs, and Ondansetron ODT 4mg Tablets; these 3 medications have saved me. I had gallbladder surgery 07/07/16 and I left the hospital in pain. In the past 3 weeks I was in the ER 3 times; luckily the last ER I went to, got it right and prescribed the medicines above, I had inflammation and the first 2 ER visits did CT scans and ultrasound and treated me like I was crazy and looking for pain meds. The last ER visit was a success and I am not on and don't need narcotic pain meds. The medicines above coated my stomach against the inflammation, gave me abdominal pain relief and stopped me from constantly throwing-up. Please ask your doctor about these medicines, I had severe pain in my right back and under my ribs and abdominal area; I was told time and time again it was CO2 gas from the surgery, it wasn't. I have missed work, without pay, scared to eat, would throw-up so much that there was nothing coming up but stomach acid. I never respond on these sites but I'm hoping my experience will help someone else and they too can find some relief. I'm still sore, and yes, I go to the bathroom constantly but the pain is gone. I am now suffering from severe hot flashes and I've been on estrogen for a few years, working on finding relief, hopefully my OB/GYN will prescribe either something different or a higher mg.

I had my gallbladder removed 5 weeks ago. I didn't have much of an appetite for about a week after. I made sure that my diet was very bland the first few days. For about a week i ate soups, sandwiches and a lot of fruit. I slowly began eating more foods and aside from a few stomach cramps after drinking coffee my diet is back to normal. I have noticed i no longer crave certain foods which has helped me loose weight. I feel great.

Hi,
I too had many stones in my gallbladder. I went to emergency room in great pain, had an ultrasound and it showed many stones. The doc gave me two phone numbers of two doctors to call to have my gallbladder removed a.s.a.p. I looked into alternative choices not wanting to lose an organ. I did a gallbladder flush - 1 1/2 days of pure apple juice (the foggy kind) then epsom salt water then olive oil with fresh lemon juice - sleep on right side - more epsom salt water in the am then passed hundreds of stones. They are softened - and are cholesterol stones I was told. All I know is the pain is gone , I can eat anything, I feel great! and I kept my organ. I'm a lay person not a doctor but I am healthy and got to keep my gall bladder. I just wanted to share with everyone. Lois
