I have an irregular menstruation. after 40 days from my last period, I got a positive result from a pregnancy test. then after a week a started bleeding accompanied with clots when I urinate. It lasted for 4 days then it stopped but not abruptly. after having that kind of bleeding, I also had some brown discharges after that lasted for about a week. and still I have positive results on my pregnancy test. what could have happened? please help thank you
I am sure you have heard of pregnant women having "periods" well this sounds like you are experiencing this - and by the way it is NOT a period what it is called is "vaginal bleeding" which is silly because the vagina isn't bleeding! What happens is right after you shed your lining each month, the lining starts to build up again! In your case the lining it has been growing for 40 days, so the lining can only get to a certain depth before it sheds again! Nothing has made it shed - the brain, your hormones - as the body already knows it is pregnant! Congratulations by the way!!! But the lining Has to shed what is not required, and thus the brown clots = which is actual lining that isn't thinned out by hormones. So this should stop now - some women have stated that they had this for each month of the first trimester! BUT the further along your are the less there is to shed! So try not to focus on that OK? And hopefully you have already started your Prenatal vitamins - and take the actual vitamin not just folic acid OK? Good luck honey!
so you're saying that I'm still pregnant?
I don't know for sure of course but it definitely sounds that way - I had the same thing with my 1st child. And from what I understand IF you had a miscarriage, then the HCG levels would be lower and harder to detect. I have a friend that said she had her period untill she was 7 months pregnant, and it was just the lining. perhaps take another test in about 3 or 4 days and if it is still showing pregnant then yes I am sure you are.
