I cannot find 6817 on the disability ratings. Will you please send the link. My husband had blood clots twice and has been on warfarin a very long time.

Yep my husband has had a PE and va denied it was attributed to AO. He served during NAM in 71/72

My husband was in Viet Nam. He is in the hospital right (4/23/15) now with several blood clots in both lungs. They are talking about family history but no mention of being in the service. I am going to call the hospital right away. Thank you everyone . . . keep up the good work. Hopefully VA will add this to their list for benefits thanks to your efforts.

Hello,  my husband served in Vietnam as a medic from 67/68, he too was covered in AO nearly the entire time he was there.  In 2010 he was diagnosed as having COPD and now found his right ventrical of his heart has what they call a "leak".  He has applied for benefits as well and has been denied as they want evidence.  I have no idea where to begin for help.  In the past my husband also has suffered from severe rashes that have appeared out of nowhere.  The rashes were so severe that it ate away his skin, right down to the bone.  It always took many doctors and various meds to deteremine the correct treatment to finally clear it up.  Yes, it was cleared up but my goodness the suffering he went through.  How in the world does someone prove that AO has caused COPD and Heart problems?  I read a case involving a gentleman by the name of Clarence A Woods who was granted VA disability with a diagnoses of COPD being caused by AO.  It's so odd they approve some but not others.  Thank you for listening and I pray for you all, God Bless

I served in Vietnam In 1967 and 1968. Like a lot of us I was late for check up. The first thing found was scars on my lungs about 25 years ago. Now to top that off I was diagnosed with COPD. I have never smoked in my life or exposed to any chemical except agent orange. At this point I am Ok. I know it won't be long before I have the same problems as all the others. I know it was agent orange that scared my lungs and caused the COPD. I am following up with the VA! SP5 Harold

I also served in Vietnam in 67-68 in a heavily sprayed area About 25 years ago an X ray revealed scars on my lungs. Now I find I now have COPD. I am Ok now. However, I know it will get worse. I have never smoked or exposed to toxic chemicals except agent orange. I know that was the cause of my lung scars and COPD. I am following up with the VA. Good luck to you! SP5 Harold

Hi Char, your husbands story sounds pretty much like my hubby's. He was also a medic 67/68 and has been diagnosed with COPD. They just recently found he has an aneurism in his aortic valve. He has suffered with the COPD a very long time and VA just now approved oxygen. VA has assigned him an "COPD case manager" and I asked her why my husband hasn't been diagnosed with a percentage to determine his disability and she said "You don't need to worry about that as we know he has severe COPD and we're medically dealing with it" It truly amazes me how so many Vets have the same issues and how VA plays the what you don't know won't hurt us game.

I was just looking into this subject. My father is in the hospital right now being treated for pulmonary embolism for the first time. (Blood clot in the lung) I was thinking there may be a link to his contact with agent orange.just happened upon your inquiry.

My dad served in Vietnam and was exposed to AO. He has some health issues which are service connected now. I have had a pulmonary embolism and a dvt and found out that I have protein c deficiency which I a blood clotting disorder. several members of my family have been tested and none have it. I have it and I have had my two daughters tested and they have it. They say its from genetics but I think it is odd that no one else has it and now 2 generations has it. It starts with me and my dad was exposed. I have had other health problems through out my life and now I wonder.

I was in pleiku Vietnam in 1969-70. I was directly involved with AO defoliation. I was diagnosed with COPD, along with several other ailments over the years. I recently had to go to the emergency room with severe pain in my lungs spitting up blood etc. Ithey now found that I have embolisms in both lungs WTF they denied connection with AO and COPD now this!!

I was in Kontum Vietnam clearing and wring the perimeter of a recently AO sprayed fire base. I had AO dripping from me. Recently found several blood clots in my right lung. VA doctors cant explain where they came from...the VA needs to reassess this, too many of us fighting in Nam have developed PE's and numerous other potentially fatal illnesses. We need to march on WA DC (if we're able) and bring this to the fore-front. Come on President Trump, time to have VA recognize many of the ailments caused by the dreadful poison Agent Orange, don't let them sweep this under the rug. Vietnam vets are dying at a faster and much younger rate than any of the other recent wars!!!!

Just diegnosed with clots while in the hospital with pneumonia I also have COPD for the past 3years and yes I was inVietNan 67-68 also I haven't smoked in 27 years if anyone can help me in my appeals claim with the VA I would really appreciate it

I served in Viet Nam from 1968-1969. I have had 2 pulmonary embolisms and the doctors have no explanation. My lungs are severely scarred and I applied for disability to the VA and I was declined. They want documentation that is virtually impossible to provide. I have been on warfarin since 2001. I was told that congress is considering allowing benefits for PE's but we all know that could be years in coming. I would like to be included in further conversations on this matter

My father was a Vietnam vet he died of pulmonary embolism in 2008. He always had a smokers cough though. He was diabetic also. The day before he did he had a very achey leg/knee he thought it was gout, he took his medication for goat. I was 25 when he died.

One month nefore he died he had agent orange skin growth removed from his forhead... Ive always wondered if there was any connection. He was 58 years old when he died.
