When you can't just stop or do not know why you can't. Some form of rehab may be necessary by such a point.
Hi I am 20 and have been to the doctors they just tell me to stop the shakes are every day quite bad but a dont drink everyday I do binge drink at weekends but am not out all the time off it a month then go. Out a really want rid of them want to no if anything. Will help except stop?
alcohol abuse cause tremors in different ways. In many cases, shaking from alcohol withdrawal is a physiologic tremor, which will disappear after the individual is finished with the withdrawal process.
I have been drinking ~4 drinks per day for 10 years and have developed a tremor in my left hand and ocassional pain/shaking in my left leg. Of course drinking makes the shaking go away but my increasing alcohol tolerance means more and more alcohol is needed to get relaxed. I have been to several neurologists and most of them seem to suspect Parkinsons first and minimize the effects of alcohol. My plan is to assume both are the cause - I'm going to a neurologist for treatment but also working on decreasing my daily intake of alcohol down to 1 glass or less of wine. If I experience relief of symptoms after that then so much the better. WARNING - don't go cold turkey or you shaking will get worse and you'll be tempted to drink more to make it go away! Decrease your intake slowly and keep a log to keep yourself honest. And find a good neurologist.
FROM A 62 YEAR OLD LONG TIME HEAVY DRINKER AND SOMEONE WHO TURNED INTO AN ALCOHOLIC ABOUT 20 YEARS AGO(THERE IS A DIFFERENCE) DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND QUIT WHILE YOU HAVE LITTLE DAMAGE SO FAR. TRUST ME THE RESULTS OF LONG TERM DRINKING AREN'T PRETTY. FORTUNATELY WHEN IT STARTED AFFECTING MY ABILITY TO WALK I QUIT. THAT WAS 2 YEARS AGO. BEST THING I EVER DID. GOOD LUCK TO YOU.
Simone2593,
Your decoration of self enrichment did not assist this individual asking a question. instead, you used their current angle to escalate your ego in swaying yourself from drinking. Given what you said, you have an addictive personality and always will. The face you pray off others weakness and compare yourself as the better individual is a whole new type of drug that damages society far greater than it damages you ( Allowing you to mask yourself as a better individual than the individual with enough courage to ask questions and ask for help.). They would be experiencing several other rather heavy symptoms if they were in withdrawal. I'm sorry if you happen to be an alcoholic whom experienced such horrid things however, this specific type of trembling would not be related to withdrawal more than likely. Please answer directly and don't be, quite frankly, rude. No one requested your curiosities and there are many sources that are able to better educate you on, "Daily Drinkers". Please utilize them.
peachybum5000 You may have an issue with your liver. I would check online for a liver and kidney healthy diet and try to stick to it for a month to a month and a half. After that, i would take precautions and go see a doctor (even thou that may suck, your better alive than dead ;))
Take care and be well.
Best regards and a happy future,
~~.
You have a problem at hand and that is binge drinking. Seek help so that it does not go out of proportion and difficult to handle.
And I wouldn't suggest "AA", It's like going to church.
Good luck.
