Hi, my daughter is 17 years old. I always knew that she wanted to be thin, and that she was interested in diets. However, I didn’t know what was happening until she ended up in a hospital, diagnosed with anorexia. Many young girls suffer from this condition, and I think people shouldn’t ignore it. There has to be awareness, because anorexia is ruing many young lifes.

Hi, I have always been very fat as a kid. In high school, I finally managed to lose that weight, and I was very happy about it. I noticed that people started treating me differently, especially the boys. I was very afraid that I could gain my weight again, so I started avoiding all the caloric food. I was eating so little, I don’t know how I stayed alive. Beside that, I exercised three times a week, and I couldn’t feel my body any more. I had no energy at all, and I looked terrible-all bones and skin. My mother realized what was happening, so she took me to the hospital. I was diagnosed with anorexia, and I’m still on a treatment. Anorexia comes quietly, and when you realize what is happening, it can be too late. My teeth are ruined because of the lack of calcium, and my hair and skin look terrible because vitamin deficiency. Thanks to my mom, I have a chance to recover. I agree with you that anorexia shouldn’t be ignored any more, and that people must be aware of this dangerous condition.
