Hi, I need to ask something regarding my mother health therapy. She has problems with her thyroid gland. She is hyperactive and it produces too much hormones. She has been prescribed with anti-thyroid medications. I would like to know how it works and are there any side effects that we could see?
The purpose of anti-thyroid medications is to cause patients thyroid gland to make less hormones. I have been using it for two months. It doesn't make any permanent damage to thyroid gland. It is used to bring your metabolism to normal and to make you feel better. It really helps. Side effects are not usual but it can appear in shape of rash and itchiness, liver problems and joint aches.
