I'm almost 4 months off the pill and still struggling. Had two weeks straight that were great, then after what I think was ovulation, went downhill again. Hopefully
About to start my first period off the pill. This is terrible.

Most likely you have a hormone imbalance. It's common at stopping the pill. You are you are probably low in progesterone which was the case for me. Go to a path and have your hormones tested. If that's the case they will put you on bio-identical progesterone or estrogen. It's important to have bioidentical there are no side affects associated because your body perceives it as your own hormone.

it's so lovely to hear all your positives stories, I recently just experienced the same thing and I was only on the pill for a week before it gave me terrible side affects and I had to stop it straight away, a month has passed now and I'm feeling a lot like me again☺️ however I do have just one question, did any of yous go onto a different pill or a different kind of contraception (e.g bar, depo shot) and get the same experience of anxiety when you stopped it? I myself would prefer to be on some kind of contraception so I have a better chance of not falling pregnant but I also don't want to go through this horrible experience again!

Hi everyone! I've been taking the pill for about 2.5 years (I'm 19) and slowly I started to feel weird. Thus, I decided to stop it. During two weeks I felt really good, like "back to normal." But after that, things escalated and now I just have a perpetual nervous feeling and sometimes panic attacks. I find it very hard to attend my classes (taking the metro too), which wasn't a problem before. It's been 3 weeks. Your posts reassured me and I would like to know how if you all got better and, if yes, how much time did it take you? :(

Usually it's about 2-3 months, or even 6. But it goes better with each month, don't worry. You can do various things to accelerate your recovery. I would recommend a naturopath or a homeopath.

Not to discourage anyone but I'm a year and 6 months in and I still have anxiety, ocd, inrsuive thoughts etc. I even took anti depressants no help. Your body needs to heal NATURALLY you can help it by exercising, eating really clean..organic etc. Avoiding things that MIMIC estrogen such as plastics and chemicals. Google "what is estrogen mimickers"...How can we expect to Normalize our hormone levels if we are exposing ourselves to so many chemicals. Since we have been practically thrown into a hormonal imbalance we need to take caution and be careful to all the "fake estrogens and chemicals we expose our bodies to". Ladies No milk...thats extra hormones, try at least for 6 months so ur hormones regulate to eat ORGANIC everything, no red meat, avoid plastics use glass instead, do not microwave in plastic and if you can avoid microwave even better use a stove. Eliminate alcohol, soda, processed foods. Incorporate more vegetables..fruits. Try to read self-help books "healing fear by Edmund Bourne is excellent!! Highly recommended! It tells you what to eat and what to do. Also, ladies with moderation go out and get some sun Vitamin D is essential! A lot of people have low levels of vitamin D and the Sun helps your moods. Also I believe every women should take a good Wholefood/food based multi vitamin once a day....sorry typing this really fast bc I'm working lol. I have gone thru this and I'm definetly trying to help in what I have learn. Still dealing with it but thru trial and error I have learned what seems to benefit during a horrible hormonal imbalance.

Lots of water!!!
Avoid chemicals such as harsh body creams, perfumes etc directly on skip (hormone disrupters)
Try to use organic cotton pads or tampons

I will post anything else if I come across it.
What didn't really help me.
Anti depressants, acupunture sessions, a bunch of chinese herbs and feeling sorry for myself. Everyone is different but just sharing. What increased my anxiety? alcohol avoid like the plague.

This is really personal but has anyone developed sexual intrusive thoughts and overthinking/anxiety by them after stopping the birthcontrol pill. I mean I get anxious forr everryyything but the sexual intrusive thoughts bug me so much!! I then overthink it and wait for any physical/body reaction this is how my anxiety is manifesting. I know many of you have health anxiety but this is like a sexual anxiety and it's horrible bc I'm married so makes me feel 10x guilty for these unwanted thoughts.

In a few words please describe your post birthcontrol anxious thoughts so far I've seen
1. Health anxiety...thinking your sick, have a bad illness, googling all the symptoms
2. ROCD (relationship ocd) Being unsure of the relationship,if u love the person,if they love you and analyze it repeatedly

Any more?

Let's make a list al of us together. Of what has made our anxiety, ocd, depression etc worse and what has made it better

HELP:
Healthy eating..clean eating (no soda,lots of vegetables,fruits)
Whole food/foodbased multi vitamins
Exercising
Staying hydrated and drinking water
Sleeping a healthy amount of hours each day
Journaling when I have time (when I'm anxious) and before bed. Have a vent our journal to vent out all the bad and a "gratitude journal" to vent out all the good and what your thankful for :)
Talking to a therapist

MADE WORSE:
Alcohol
Trying to continue to analyze the thought instead of ignoring it or trying to ignore it
If I'm stress about work, school etc. it makes my anxiety worse
eating a lot of junk food
drinking a lot of caffeine

NO DIFFERENCE:
Accupunture sessions

I am really happy i found this forum. I just stopped the pill (Minastrin 24FE) about a week ago and then started having very bad anxiety. I could not understand how all of a sudden i'm getting panic attacks. But it all makes sense now. I'm honestly thinking of getting back on it because this is dreadful. And similar to everyone here, I went to see my PCP and and they prescribed me some anxiety medication which i don't want to take because i have never had a need for that. I'm generally a very positive and happy person. But this awful feeling is so overwhelming. I'm seeing my OBGYN today and see what they tell me. I just want to be back to normal. But want to say thank you to you all for sharing your experiences because they do provide comfort for me.

I was on for 10 years and just went off of it so that I could try for children later this fall, hopefully. I've dealt with anxiety before and know what's happening to me when I have an attack, but its been a while since I've experienced an attack like the one I just had. I went off my bc about 3 weeks ago...due for my period this week...if it comes. I was sitting at my desk and it felt like my throat was closing and tongue was swelling. Immediately I panicked. Im not sure if I can do these all over again.

I'm going through 2 months of severe insomnia after stopping Yasmin after 10 years. No matter how tired I am, I can't get to sleep!
