Hello everyone!

Long time no see, right? I really missed you guys but to be honest I was thinking that I won’t have any need to visit this site and look up for your help :/ God, I was so wrong.

My dog has very clouded eyes lately. I don’t see any symptoms that can indicate some health issues but his look is something that really worries me. I am not sure what this means and what this could mean in the future.

My friend told me that I am really stressed and in the panic all the time but I don’t think so.

Should I be worried about this problem?

Your dog’s eyes are not cloudy without any reasons. There are so many reason like cataracts, and that means a breakdown of the fibers which make up the lens of the eye. And it could be nuclear sclerosis.

The main concern is because you can’t tell what is the difference between nuclear sclerosis and cataracts by just looking at a dog.

Nuclear sclerosis is the normal cloudy eye. It develops when dog is getting older.

So maybe your dog is just getting older but maybe this is the indicator to some disease.

Anyway you should not be in panic. The proper diagnose will be determined by your vet.

Hey there.

I hope you are doing fine.

It is very possible that your dog has congenital cataracts. It is very hard to make any conclusion since there are no photos of your dog’s eyes. I know that some dog breeds eyes can change when they are getting older.

I really don’t have a clue what else could it be.

A dog’s eyes can say a lot about your pet’s health.

Also this situation can be caused by stretches on the cornea or inflammation inside the eye and both of those can be treated with medications. Ask your vet for the opinion, he will know the best.

Hey. Well I am definitely not an expert, but I think that the cataracts is the reason why your dog is having clouded eyes.

But like you already know, this is not common in older dogs even if a lot of pet owners assume it is. Is your dog older or younger plays a very important role in this. Maybe it is nuclear sclerosis but it generally doesn’t affect vision.

So as you can see there are two possibilities and your dog could have either of them.

I can explain you both of these diseases but you need to tell me a little bit more about your dog.

Thank you :)

Hey there. First I want to thank you for so many answers. I am sure that they will help me someday. But to be honest now I really don’t know almost anything about those diseases.

I will give you some information and maybe you will be able to help me :)

My dog is 5 years old and he is very lovely Labrador retriever :) I think that a lot of us in here have Labrador :) But they are so smart and adorable…

The main problem is that he still has clouded eyes and I am still worried.

Can you now give me more information?

He was never seriously sick.
