Two years ago I had a CT scan of my chest and abdomen after delivering my first child prematurely and having night sweats over the following weeks and it revealed an area of atypical fibrosis in my lungs. My doctor said we should just keep an eye on it. I am now pregnant again and have developed a cough that occurs mostly when I lie down at night. I have quite bad allergic rhinitis and developed a sinus infection which I thought might be the cause of the cough. But I am on my second round of antibiotics and the infection and cough still haven't cleared up. I am just wondering if the cough may have more to do with the atypical fibrosis than the infection? Just because I had an area of atypical fibrosis on one scan does that mean I have a lung disease? As I am pregnant I cannot have any scans or xrays done at this time, but I am worried that by the time I give birth (hopefully at 40 weeks this time!) I may have developed something terrible??
