Hi, I have been experiencing changein vaginal secret, it is watery, yellow fluid. Three days ago unpleasant odor and excessive discharge were signs that something is not right. Could it be bacterial vaginitis?
Bacterial vaginitis is caused by excessive bacteria growths, which are normally present in the vagina. Symptoms such as a discharge or odor are perceivable. Gardnerella vaginalis is commonly responsible for infection. Vaginal secretions may become a watery, pearly grey discharge. Treatment is usually metronidazole (Flagyl) tablets, taken for five days and do not drink alcohol during this treatment. Other treatment options include tinidazole (Fasygin), clindamicin, miconazole (Monistat). They may be with less severe side effects, but also less effective.
