You have migraine associated vertigo. I have the same thing. Dizziness never really goes away for me, but avoiding certain foods seems to help.

I also have these symptoms (headache, nausea, ear pain, depression, .....) by the end of my period every month. The only thing that work for this is the voltarin IM injection. It takes only 5 minutes and all of these symptoms disappear!!!! Sometimes I try the perfelgane IV it works much better too

FOR THE PAST 10 YEARS I HAVE HEADACHE ASSOCIATED WITH MY PERIOD. tHERE ARE TIMES IT HAPPENED A WEEK TO A FEW DAYS BEFORE MY PERIOD, OR RIGHT WHEN I AM DONE WITH MY PERIOD FOR ABOUT 2-5 DAYS I hAVE A HEADACHE SO BAD, WORKS, i JUST HAVE TO LET THE DAYS PASS. i HAVE GONE TO THE DOCTOR AND THEY TALK ABOUT STREE ETC, i AM NOT UNDER ANY STRESS, THESE HEADACHES HAPPENED EVERY TIME AROUND MY TIME OF THE MONTH, WITHOUT FAIL, i BELIEVE IT IS NOT STRESS RELATED, HAVING STRESS DOESN'T HLEP i WILL ADMIT, BUT THAT IS NOT WHAT IS CAUSING THESE UNBEARABLE HEADACHES, i FEEL LIKE i AM STANDING IN THE MIDDLE OF A HIGHWAY AND TWO SEMII TRUCKS ARE HITTING BOTH SIDES OF MY HEAD OVER AND OVER AGAIN --AND LET ME TELL YOU NO MEDICINE THE DOCTOR GIVES ME HELP. eXCEDRIN HAS HELPED SOMETIMES, BUT NOT ALWAYS. i AM SO TIRED OF DOCTORS SAYING IT'S MOSTLY STRESS WHEN IT IS CLEARLY A CONDITION THAT HUNTS ME BECAUSE OF MY PERIOD.. SOME ADVICE THAT HAS HELPED IS THE MOMENT i FEEL A TWIG OF A HEADACHE TRYING TO COME OVER FOR A VIST i QUICKLY TAKE 3 iBUPROFENS AND 8 HOURS LATER TAKE 3 MORE, AND i DO THIS FOR A COUPLE A DAYS AND TO MY SUPRISE iT HAS WARDED OFF THESE MONSTERS HEADACHES.

The same thing happens to me sometimes too. It's really quite scarey but my doctor says its the hormones that are causing the dizziness.

I understand what you are going through. I have had migraines since I was 12. I'm now 40. I have done everything possible and have done tons of research to try to figure out what does and doesn't help. The last 10 years or so I have seen a link to hormone levels, my period and the headaches. I have noticed they are about 4 days before and or last for 3 to 6 days after my period. They settle in my (usually) left eye and raidiate up my skull where it feels like someone has hit me on the head with a hammer. At times I can't even stand to brush my hair it hurts so much. I am now researching natural progesterone replacements and herbs like wild yam, chasteberry and Dong Quai. Also I plan to increase my B-6 and thiamin intake.
I have taken many drugs prescribed by doctors but they either don't really work, only take the edge of, or make me sick. I am now taking Imitrex, but I can only tolerate a half a pill and they still make mefeel icky ,but it's better than being unable to function. There are are things that seem to help .Massage. If you can afford it, do it. The stress of the pain tightens you up. Meditation...like in the movie MASK. Talk yourself into feeling better. It really does help to manage the pain you can't do anything about. Ice therapy works pretty well. Buy a large bag of frozen peas and a large scarf and tie the bag on your head. Not sexy but I think it helps to deaden the nerve endings and lessen swelling. Ibuprophen and tylenol can be taken together and don't do exactly the same things. I take up to 800mg of Ibu and up to 1000 mg of tylenol( presc. by a doctor), while at the same time sipping on a highly caffeinated beverage.I have tried feverfew(an herb) and herbal teas. Didn't notice much of a change. I stay away from cheeses and intense smells which seem to make it worse. I try to never get dehydrated which can trigger or make headaches worse. I also try to get enough sleep and increase my natural "feelgood" chemicals by having sex whenever possible. Regular exercise works too  :) I hope some of this helps...Good luck kiddo...

I am 40 yr old that has been using natural progesterone for over 5 years now becuase I had issues with too much estrogen. I was getting the headaches you have mentioned and this really, really helped with the crazy drop in hormones during your period.
I would recommend talking to your doctor, it's natural so you don't have to worry about weird side effects or cancer or anything like that.
You can also order your own saliva tests to test your hormone levels yourself and then you'll know for sure if one or the other is out of whack.

You sound like me about 6 months ago, I had every test imaginable to figure these things out. I went to my family doctor again and she talked to me for about an hour and came to the conclusion that I actually had anxiety and put me on a low dose of Zolaf . Now it takes about 3 - 4 weeks to get into your system( and by that time I had lost my job because of it).but there was this one Tuesday about a month and a half into the pills, and I remember it so clearly, I woke up and it just hit, I was feeling "normal" again. It was a life saver for me. so go to your doctor and tell him/her EVERYTHING!!!!

Have any of you tried taking iron? (Enzymatic Therapy Ultimate Iron is a good one...not the "energizing" one bc it has less iron in it) This may help.

Hello Everyone, I am one of you having the same problem over a year now. I am a scientist and struggling with this problem and trying to help myself and others like me. Right now I am suffering from the same problem. I was surfing on net to find something and found many like me but no cure.  I have been to Drs and they say do exercise (why don't they understand if I can't get up from my bed, how I can exercise) or take this or that medicine (I am not a big fan of medicines but during this time I can take anything to cure it).

I want to discuss few points with all of you, that I feel during this time. I feel like indigestion or gas problem (can't define clearly but something related), no desire to eat anything and definitely feel that if my bowl movement would be clear I will feel better (though nothing changes the headache). I noticed that estrogen levels do all this to me and I tried to eat foods having estrogen like compounds but not working. If we are on the same page, please let me know. I am working on reasons that causes it. Also you have this consistently every month or sometimes "not" as well.

I have migraine/headache after period also. My doctor recommended taking both Advil and Tylenol together at once (one of each, more if needed).  It seems to help.
