I am 23 years of age, in good health, and the other day I decided to smoke a joint. I used to smoke in high school but Ive quit. And the other day was the first time in a very long time i smoked weed again. And it was weird. I was puking, I felt like I needed to sit down, so I did. and I felt like I was freaking out, like bad anxiety. I was sitting on the couch and I felt like lying down so i did, to try and calm myself. I had my eyes closed while lying down and I started to feel like I was falling. Like really fast falling down down down. Now my question is, what is this? why did this happen to me? I am looking for a medical answer.Like what was happening to my body or brain. and why.Ive asked a couple people and they told me i was "tripping out". I am not looking for that answer because there is something going on inside my body, and id like to know. not just have it labelled.
When we are young males 21 and females 18 have higher dopamine levels then people over that age. Weed directly affects and increases dopamine levels. So when u were younger and smoking your dopamine levels went up a little not to mention the carefree nature of the highschool age. Faster forward to now when u smoked a couple things were at play your dopmine levels skyrocked being hit harder by that couple with the lack of being carefree anymore caused you to have an anxiety attack which release adrenaline (this is want causes the flight or fight reponse when your brain thinks your in danger). The adrenaline is to blame for all the nasty symptoms u felt. Hope this helps.
