Okay, I'm a bit worried. My girlfriend at age 17 is having a constant horrible stomach pain, she says it just makes her feel the worst she's ever been. About a year ago she started having them but like every once in a while, but recenetly its been at a constant and hasn't really stopped. About the same time the pain started she started birth control. Maybe this is the culprit? We are going to take this month off hopefully that helps but I dont know. What do you guys think this is? Its not really related to eating certain foods or what not to.
What should we do?
Do you have this?
Do you know what it could be?
Any help at all would be very appretiated.
Thanks for your time

Hi hon: Is this pain usually with vomiting or diareha? If not, it could be an ulcer OR a couple of other things in particular Irritable Bowel Syndrome. When you're dealing with the stomach there can be SO many culprits, But I am leaning towards IBS below is a link I found for you to take a look at if it seems to fit. She should see her doctor - I think she should anyway, just to rule out anything or even rule IN something that can be helped. Let me know OK? Good luck and health to both of you.

First of all thank you for the quick reply.
No it has nothing to do with vomiting or diareha, and were arent't sure its specifically the stomach just the whole area.
Not only this but her current doctors, in my opinion aren't very good because in the past they havn't done a great job but thats just me so I hope they can find something.
Thanks for the help ill look at the site

Your welcome hon! I just thought of something else, you stated that she started having these symptoms around the time that she went on BCP!!! So I am thinking that it might be her ovaries! A lot of doctors think that IBS is a emotional problem. But believe me there's nothing emotional or in your head about the pain you feel with this! If I were you hon, I would try and get her to see another doctor and mention to them about her ovaries and the IBS! Does it hurt her more around the time of her period? Also does it ever hurt her if she is in a relaxed state!
Hi there Gsph, how is your girlfriend doing now? I know that you posted this awhile ago and it sounded like the symptoms were sort of vague. Not that they were vague exactly but they could be almost anything. How is your girlfriend doing now? I was concerned when I read this so I hope she's doing well now. Let me know, okay?
Shes okay, it still comes and goes and Im sorry they were vague, thats what worried us to. But yeah she still gets them, and this is week one without taking BC pills so lets see how this goes.
Hi hon! Who mentioned about her going without the BCP?! Hopefully its a doctors advice and not your own. She does need to be checked out 1st before changing anything OK? Let me know if there is anything else going on or happened OK?
I agree with what bambi said! I didn't think that it was a birth control issue, I think that it might be something that's unrelated! She should definitely go to a doctor because whatever she's going through might not be related to it at all. Instaed, have her go to a doctor first. Keep us posted on what you mean, okay?
Well...to late we already started going off it to see what will happen because it seemed she started feeling like this when she started taking them.
And as much as we want to go to the doctors we cant. Money is tight. Very Tight.
But we have some updates that might help figure it out.
When she lays flat on her stomach it spins out of control and she gets a bad pain in her side but when she stands up and walks around a bit it will go away. Tums dosnt help if anything it makes it worse. We dont know what to do and she dont know how long she can last with it she says. But we cant go to the doctor, simply her mom dont care and thinks shes complaining and she dont have any money to do it. :-(

OMG hon! OK money or not - declare that you are street kids or something - she needs to go to the Emergency department - I think it could be either an infected ovary OR apendisitis. So PLEASE take her into a public hospital, I don't know where you live, but they HAVE to see you and just pretend that you are poverty stricken or something!!! She needs to be seen ASAP and please let me know how she's doing OK?!!! TOTAL HUGS SEnt out to you both!!!!
