According to heavy and long period bleetings, who could last for 14 days, I was recommanded the Mirena.
The first one was placed in August 2016. It was okay with daily spottings, which I was aware of and accepted.
Then in the beginning of November I simply dropped the Mirena in the toilet with a very huge clot.
I was putted on Provera for 10 days to prevent this from happening for my next Mirena.
Exactly the same happened in the same way. I was not heavy bleeding at that time, so it came much as a surprice to me, that I suddenly lost the Mirena in the same clothell.
Its almost 3 weeks ago, and I'm still spotting.
Some day it is almost black and today it is red.
I,m not in pain, but I feel som activity down there. Like very mild period pains.
My doctor tells me, that my body still reacts to the Mirena even though it is not there any longer.
Im sceduled to an examination in the hospital the 27. of February 2017.
I kind of regret my meeting with the Mirena.
I feel it messed my system up.
I have told them that I will never ever keep the Mirena in my uterus, as long as those huge bloodclots keep coming. The Mirena is surprisingly soft. I know that becourse I have found it twice ind the toilet and picked it up as evidense of loosing it.
Things need to be told about possible sideeffects. My doctor talked about the Mirena as the best thing ever happening to women.

Has anyone received any help with these concerns. I got my Mirena put in on a Monday. After it was put in I was in so much pain I could hardly walk. Friday of that same week I had it taken out. 15 minutes after it was out I felt like myself again and the pain went away. My period went away that Thursday and here it is Sunday and my period is coming back on. I'm in so much pain!!! I just need to know if this is normal. Are you supposed to have a period after it's taken out or is this something that needs to be checked? It's scary with all the complications I had when it was put in and the pain I felt when it came out.
I have been reading and reading about what happens after IUD removal for the past week! I am 24 years old and I had mirena IUD for 5 years, got it removed just this past February on the 23rd. I have been bleeding, then it stoped for 3 days and started having dark spotting. What is going on?????? Also I feel like as if I am having these pregnancy symptoms. My daughter is now 5, turning 6, yup got the IUD 3 months after she was born. Someone help, I had unprotected sex on 2 days before I got it removed. I can't get pregnant.......can I?
What happened after? I'm going through the same situation as of now and I still can't find an end result to any of this. I'm afraid I'll bleed out lol
Oh my God the same thing happened to me ! Did it ever stopped? I got it removed 3 days ago and now I'm in stage bright red
I had my mirena for almost 5 years, I had it removed 2 days ago and still no bleeding I hope it stays that way. I hope I am like you lol I've heard some horror stories about bleeding for 6 to 8 months after having it removed.
I've heard of women getting pregnant on the iud. I also just got my Mirena removed and am having pregnancy symptoms
I got my IUD in january 2012 I had it for 5 years. I did have complications I got ovarian cyst and they were very painful. I got it removed last month which was 3/3/2017 my first period after the removal was 10 days long it was not heavy but it was very long. The entire time I had my IUD 5 years I didn't not have a period. It is now 4/12/17 and it is my second period and I am bleeding so much I am truly glad I am not working at the moment because I have gone through all my heavy flow tampons my underwear and my pants I was sitting down and went all the way through to my sofa. I have the worst cramps and I feel woosie. I can easily say this period is worse than when I had my 14 day period after I had my daughter. This period is no joke I feel week and I feel like I can faint is this normal? If so I hope next period gets better.
Your situation sounds much like mine... They want to do a biopsy looking for cancer?? , seems to me like more stress on me and my body. Especially after reading all these posts on how it happens to so many people after Mirena removal. I went off everything and am planning on foving my body a chance to recuperate on its own, also added fitness and extra healthy eating to try to stabilize whatever is happening. I would never have put mirena in had I known how damaging it would be and I only had it for 1 year. I hated it.
Hi. I had mirena put in march 6th my period started march 8th the previous period was Feb 8th. I had light bright red spotting on the 1st of April that lasted about 3 days. I started again April 7th on going spotting but with lots of lower back and abdominal pain feeling light headed and dizzy at times. I got it removed on April 24th now the bleeding is getting worse still bright red blood and now clots. Is this normal.
I'm in the same boat. I had mine removed 3 weeks ago. I bled heavily for 8 days then it stopped. I headed off to the UK for my holiday and it started all over again after only 3 days. Now I'm 8 days into excessive bleeding and clotting. If I'd have know this could happen I would have waited until after my holiday. This is not fun as I can't leave the apartment
I had mine removed a week sho and am still having moderate bleeding but it's the severe cramps and quarter size blood clots that really worry me. How long did your bleeding and clots last? I almost went to ER last night it hurt so bad and I have had 3 kids and did ok with births!
Same thing happening to me i took mine out april 17 th after 5 years too but i was bleeding for 10 days heavy with clots then for a week i stopped and had bad cramps all that week after that i started bleading again the 9 th may still bleeding its the 12th and its heavy and painful i have had unpertected sex so i am also worried because it feels like pregnancy cramps but ive taken two test and there negative i called dr and he said it was because of the mirena removal! I hate mirena it has my body all messed up!
So I got the mirena over a yr ago because of my super heavy periods. My family pract. Advised me to get it out because I just couldn't get a handle on my mood. I'm on day 10 and have bled super heavy every day. Not sure what to do. It's so bad that I have bled through my pants at Least 2 times. Not sure what to do either
I have my iud got out 5 days ago. Still spots blood is the normal??? I am 53 and Dr said I am too old to get pregnant
