My son has been battling clots for almost 10 years now. He is 38, and just suffered a very serious clot to his brain. My husband died from small cell lung cancer, and received Agent Orange after his death. Is the VA recognizing any clotting disorders for the children of Viet Nam vets?

President Trump,
I am writing to you because I feel I have not been treated fairly by the Veterans Administration. In 2012 as a resident of Florida, I entered the VA system with a Priority 3 group. It was #3 because I received a purple heart while serving 1 year of combat on an armor personnel carrier. This is written on the form I received, “Thank you for enrolling with the Department of Veterans Affairs health care system. We will do our best to provide you health care that is second to none.” That is quite a statement, and I now after 17 years of joining, I seriously question that statement.
In April of 2011, while living in Wisconsin, I had a blood clot in my left leg. It covered from my foot to my groin. I was hospitalized for 5 days and it was very painful. The Dr’s wanted to know if I had been on an airplane or seated for a long period of time. That was not possible as I was taking a walk every day for at least 8 miles per day. This was called DVT, Deep Vein Thrombosis. It is not a family problem. I had to take blood thinner medicine for over one year. I also began to see skin tags, and had an enlarged prostate gland.
Sometime in about 2015, while living in Utah, I had another bout with DVT, this time it was in my right left. I recognized what it could have been and went to the hospital. Now I was burdened with having to take blood thinner medicine for the rest of my life. This I believe was the cause of being exposed to Agent Orange while being in the field for one year in the Duc Pho, and Chu Lai region of Viet Nam. I also believe that Agent Orange is responsible for my skin cancer, englared prostate, higher than normal blood pressure and hearing loss with tinnitus.
During the time I was living in Utah, I applied for a Purple Heart license plate and noticed that on my discharge paper, DD214, I was listed as a Private E-3 First Class. This was an error as I was a Specialist 4, E-4, at the time of my discharge. I have sent the Army proof of my correct rank, but the Army has denied my request to have my DD214 corrected to show the proper discharge rank. This was assigned case #AR20160010847. Then when I requested further another case number was assigned #AR20150009989, deigning my request to have my DD214 corrected. Their correspondence had several mistakes and one in particular stated they presumed I was reduced in rank, and this did not happen.
On May 8, 2015, I submitted my request for compensation for what I have come to believe are maladies caused by the exposure to Agent Orange. From then to now the VA has denied what I believe are what is due me for my exposure to Agent Orange. I have talked to two other soldiers who I served with who receive compensation for Agent Orange exposure and I suspect there are more that I am not aware of.
In February of 2016 I did get a hearing examination and was awarded a 10% disability for tinnitus. Also in 2016 the VA sent me a letter stating that I had to prove my problems were caused by Agent Orange. This to me is wrong as I was exposed to Agent Orange and I personally know of soldiers that were at the same time and place as Agent Orange was being used and many of the Landing Zones were heavily treated with Agent Orange. At one time being under aircraft that was spreading Agent Orange. My belief that the VA should cause my medical proof should come from them and not at my expense.
Without hearing more from the VA in 2019, I contacted Representative Steven Horsford for help in dealing with the VA. His help did not move my request for the rank correction or any help for Agent Orange compensation. I also filled out forms on line to get compensation for what I had first applied for. For this I got another letter saying I filled out the wrong form which should have been 0995 instead of 0996. Really, because of a wrong form? So I will include form 0995.
Mr. Trump, I am hopeful you can help a US Army Combat Veteran and Purple Heat recipient to receive what I believe is due me. I am nearly 73 years of age, and I feel the VA is waiting for me to die, so they will not have to deal me with me.
I am currently being treated by the Pahrump, Nevada VA for Deep Vein Thrombosis, which is believed to be caused by Agent Orange.
According to “38 U.S.C.A. §§ 1110, 5107" the VA is to give the veteran the benefit of doubt. This should be done as it is my claim, that Agent Orange is the only viable explanation to my having Deep Vein Thrombosis, as there is not family history of DVT.

I served 2 tours in Vietnam. I have had 3 blood clots in my legs. This month on the 3rd I had 2 clots in my heart, one in the upper and one in the lower chamber of my heart. The first came out and lodged in the inside of my right elbow. Five days later the second came out and lodged in the same place in my left elbow. I was on Plavix & Eliquis at the time. Now I am on Pradaxa and so far I am ok.Nobody can tell me that agent orange is not to blame.
2. Deep vein thrombosis, right lower extremity.
I'm going to file for benefits, there are more and more articles about veteran's dieing or living with this problem.
