Continue to have blood in urine periodically with big clots of blood following PVP Green Light Laser Surgery. Doctor says this is normal for laser surgery on very enlarged prostate.
I am 12 weeks post laser proceedure and am also experiencing daily heavy bleeding and clots, primarily in the morning. My urologist says this is out of the norm, but contends that unless this bleeding subsides in another 2-3 months he'll need to put me bac k into surgey to remove these clots.

He did use a scope to try and find the bleeders, but was unable to locate them. Says I had much tissue yet yo be urinated out, but nothing apparent to cause the bleeding.

Had Green Light Laser surgery about 10 year ago. Initially I had blood and clots in my urine yearly for a couple of years. Scopes (painful as hell) and 2 scans with and without contrast turned up nothing. Now it's a chronic and episodic event. Scares the hell our of my primary care doc but it it was something serous it would have killed my by now. BTW I'm and RN and I've had enough negative and painful tests.

Had Geen Light Prostate surgery exactly one week ago today. Cath was removed same day of surgery. Had blood in urine for 24 hours then very little until today. Streaks of blood, no clots since day 1. Looking forward to the next 3-months and regaining the feeling of control. My issue was urgency and frequency and am only 59.

Hello.

If you're experiencing light bleeding, and small clots, it's important to consult a doctor as soon as possible.

In some cases, light bleeding and small clots can be normal after prostate surgery, but it's crucial to consult with your surgeon or healthcare team to ensure that everything is progressing as expected. They will be able to provide you with appropriate guidance based on your specific situation and may need to assess you for any potential complications.

Good luck!
