I am so glad that im not the only one. I have had this condition since I was 9 yrs old I am now 20 and it seems to just keep getting worse and worse. when i first went to to docotr for it they said it was normal. then then told me i needed to lose weight. then finally i saw a doctor that knew what she was talking about and she diagnosted me. I was so happy to finally know what this god awful thing was. I have been on meds for it for 2 years now and nothing has changed. I think its getting worse because I have started getting a whole bunch of black heads that I cant get rid of. I tried those nose strips for blackheads but they are so deep that it doenst work. the TCA peel sounds like it would work so i think ill try that. I'm just glad that I'm not the only one out there with this embarassing disease.
I need to know too!!
well i am a 24 yr old male from southern cali and i have the same problem.. i really think though that most of it is because i have really big thighs (not really over weight thighs) just big thighs... i could use to loose a few pounds which i am trying to work on, but i just ordered the TCA Peel on Amazon.. a 1/2 ounce portion for 6.99 just for me to try it but i sounds promising.. the TCA product is like an acid that burns away skins and in turn, opens pores and promotes healthy and fresh skin growth... from what i read, it does wonders on acne scars and helps with boils and bad acne.. i will keep this site posted on how it works.. talk to you all soon
So good to know I'm not the only freak on the planet! I'm 47 years old and first started with this HS issue in puberty. Oh, the shame and embarrassment! Fortuitously, none of my boyfriends have run away screaming in horror so far... mind you, I've only had about four serious relationships. But I still totally dread getting naked for the first few times with a new partner.
I seriously don't think being overweight is what causes the condition. My father used to get terrible boils in his underarms and his GP was clueless as to what caused them. Perhaps its a hereditary condition? Any evidence for that?
I don't get them in my underarms, just my undercarriage, LOL... but I can tell you that the condition has improved dramatically for me since I nuked all my pube follicles with IPL hair removal treatment. Had armpits done in-salon (uber expensive) but eventually decided it would be cheaper in the long run to fork out £300 for a Philips Lumea

so I could treat my legs and bikini area at home. The fact that the HS improved as a result of Hollywood-style IPL hair removal was a happy bonus :o)
I still get the odd random boil, but nothing like previously, and I'm still seeking solutions to get shot of the blackheads, whiteheads and scarring, hence why I'm here. A TCA skin peel sounds promising.
Like a previous poster, I found the condition improved when I was using sunbeds. However, I've got enough wrinkles from irradiating myself with ultraviolet, so maybe vitamin D supplements might be worth a go.
Keep your chins up, lovely people. And remember, when someone loves you, they'll understand and they'll love you even though you think you've got a horrorshow downbelow! :o) xx
Hello everyone,
I'm 30 and I've been dealing with this same issue for about 16 years. I thought I was a lone with this embarassing condition as well. My weight has fluctuted through the years and i know it had something to do with the rubbing and friction between my thighs. This has caused me to not wear short shorts and certain bathing suits. I don't have any children but I dread the day of having to deliver and having everyone look between my thighs. I am now currently dropping weight and becoming more comfortable with myself and I wouldn't love anything more than to get rid of these blackheads, deark spots, and sometimes hurtful boils and pimples. I will most defintely be using the tca peel along with biore strips.
If you are still suffering from this horrible skin condition try the following:
Soak a cotton wool bud in peroxide ( surgical ) and gently roll it backwards and forwards over the pimple, boil etc.
After a short while the pus will be released. Clean the spot and surrounding area thoroughly with a fresh cotton bud soaked in peroxide.
Then clean the entire area with TCP.
After 3-4 days, a white head ( that may be irritating to the surrounding skin ) will come to the surface.
This is the core. Gently remove with the aid of peroxide and clean again with TCP.
Repeat until free of this pesky condition. :)
I've had boils on my butt since I was 14 yrs old. Now I am 21, I never told anyone until last month when I finally had the courage to tell my dermatologist. She diagnosed me with folliculitus and told me many people have this. She prescribed me Novo-Doxylin 100 mg (tablets) and Clindamycin 2% in 1% Emocort lotion to rub on my boils. I've been taking the tablets for over a month now and so far no boils have come back. All is left are the black spots and scars and I've been using bio oil for a month, not sure if it is working though. Definetely try and ask your dermatologist/doctor for Novo-Doxylin, it has helped me tremendously.
Would you mind telling me what TCA peel you used. I would like to give it a try.
I just started getting these a few weeks ago, boy do they hurt! I dealt with mild acne when i was younger because I have oily skin. I never thought much of it: it was oily, it itched around my ankles where my socks were too tight, pimples really hurt, and my cheeks always looked dry when I got up close in the mirror. I never considered it might have special needs that soap and water couldn't fix and that alcohol couldn't disinfect. I didn't take the time to treat it with something it might benefit from. And now that I'm 32 I have manageable acne when my hormones change every month.
These new zits though?? These are black and swollen like insect bites!! Hardly something I want on my legs over the summer. I'm using a variety of things to treat them: facial mask to lessen swelling, antibacterial if I mess with it, and Bacitraycin with Aloe (first aide ointment that helps heal cuts) These help appearances, but not so much the recurring pain. Because these appeared so recently I can almost confidently contribute it to changes in my recent activities. The only changes in my daily practices are I've been working out more (few times a week at home, some floor aerobics), and I've recently changed my soap (usually hypoallergenic for my sensitive skin) to a natural exfoliant oatmeal soap bar I got from a health food store. This is before these showed up. Maybe the new soap is too irritating to my skin and not strong enough for my oily skin so my pores have more of a reason to be inflamed and infected. I also have new small blister like acne around my neck/shirt-collar area?? Could be related to cleanliness.
I also tend to wear tight jeans. Maybe I've gotten a new pair that doesn't let my skin breath. That's why I suspect tanning helps dry these out and reduce swelling as mentioned by a Guest on the first page: our thighs haven't been treated very appropriately sweating in a chair all day or sporting jeans that don't breath, or skipping a shower here or there. I've done all these, and recently.
Try to figure out your type of skin, maybe it's sensitive and you've never put soothing lotion on it once in its life. Maybe it's oily and you've never used soap that cuts it thoroughly. Pay attention to what your skin endures because these blisters/pimples/blackheads are a reaction to something on the surface. I'm not familiar with the disease listed, but hopefully anyone with a brief or recent account can attribute it to something that changed recently in their health or hygiene habits in that time. I also just changed laundry detergent and sit in a new chair at work with a heater under my desk. New environment: temperature and pressure from chair or clothes, maybe I caused these and a few changes can heal them.
For my case the ones on my thighs very recently showed up and a lot has changed in my habits, I'll share an update if they clear up and what might have been the contributor. If not then maybe I will learn something new about my skin and my health.
I've suffered with the same condition since I had puberty, which was more than 10 years ago. At a young age it was so confusing to deal with this because doctors had me running around in circles and to be honest they weren't much help. I have so much scarring from them trying to drain but I realize now they didn't even need to.
From my experience these occur due to our lymph nodes. Lymph nodes in the inner thighs become inflamed. What has worked, and also if you have the same issue in your under arms or anywhere else in your body is to drink a cup of warm water with lots of lemon in the morning. Seems like something so easy that it might not work but what this does is cleanses and eliminates toxins in your body on a regular so that there isn't a build up of toxins in your body that are trying to get out on their own causing these skin issues. Your insides and your skin will start feeling refreshed. I didn't find this as an answer anywhere but more so started this habit of drinking warm/hot water with lemon as a health thing and noticed my inflammation and swelling from this disease stopped on its own. Antibiotics do NOT help! Rather they cause your body to become immune to them, so when you need antibiotics when you're sick or actually need to kill a virus, they don't work, or you need a stronger kind.
As for the scarring, it is so upsetting. I have a lot of dark scars on my inner thighs and it is so embarrassing in private/intimate situations. I'm glad I came across this as I am going to try a peel. I have been using exfoliating gloves to rid of old dead skin hoping newer skin comes and lightens/diminishes the scars and it has helped as I see some progress. I hope for anyone else with this issue to definitely try the exfoliating gloves in the shower before spending money on any creams, lotions, peels. After showering under hot water, lather some antibacterial soap and wash with exfoliating gloves in a circular motion.
Best of luck to everyone, you aren't alone. xo
