You have no idea how happy I was to find this thread. I'm a 20 years old female and have been suffering with this curse since I was 10 years old. It started out with just pumps, then turned into boils, then black heads, then in grown hairs and now I feel like it’s taking over. The boils are puss filled and also filled with blood after I pop them. They get to be the size of a nickel at times. It sucks when I have to go out places because the moment I put on pants and my thighs rub together it pops. Then I’m left with blood on my jeans, and you already know what that looks like, now they’re starting to reach my butt. It’s hard because I’ve been in a long term relationship and I’m active. He was my first so he’s the only man that’s seen it and during intercourse it’s awkward. I know he wonders about it but never says anything which is sweet. I want to talk to him about it but it’s too embarrassing. I get the boils a couple times a month. They spring up all over the place. One week its my left thigh next week its my right. Even when I don’t pop them they just burst, then it leaves a scar. I’ve read a lot about weight being an issue, well I’m not fat, never have been. So it gets me so mad when doctors blame everything on weight. ITS NOT YOUR WEIGHT! That’s just what doctors say when they have no idea what they’re talking about! When I turned 18 I went to the OBGYN. The moment she examined me she said “Wow you have a lot of bumps and scarring!”. Really lady? I know that! I asked her what was wrong with me and she said she couldn’t remember the name of the condition. I asked her what can I do about it. She said “Nothing, that’s just the way your body is”. That made me feel a million times worst! I decided to see another OBGYN and she recommended a dermatologist. After being humiliated I decided not to see a dermatologist. I just took matter into my own hands.
I bought bump patrol you can buy it at your local grocery or pharmacy. I used that on my in grown hairs and it helps a lot with them. It’s supposed to be for men to put on when there done shaving to help the facial in grown hairs to come out. I figured if it can put on the face it might be safe down there. It burns a little but hey it’s like alcohol, but who cares it works! For the boils I had a tube of Vitamin D crème at home that I once used for a burn I had on my face. The doctor gave me the prescription and it actually helps with the healing for after they burst. It still leaves a scar but it’s actually lighter due to the crème. I also hate bikini season. I see so many girls at the beach in their two piece. I wear mine but with shorts on the bottom. I can’t open my legs because you’ll see scarring, so I just put on shorts to go swimming. It sucks to know that I’ll never be able to wear my bathing suit without shorts. I read about the TCA peel and decided to purchase it. I’m hoping I can fix these ugly scars.

Thanks all. I'm a 40 year old male. Recently broke up with my GF - not cause of the pimples/boils :-)
I though I was all alone as well. Will be trying out a few things on here as well as I get sore while walking sometimes.
Thanks again and it's not just you women!

Hello,
Thanks for sharing your story. I was just wondering how has the microdermabrasion treatment been working for you-any updates? I am strongly considering it, but its expensive :(
Thank you

I also suggest to make sure you keep your inner thigh.. buttocks area clean (make sure you throughly rinse throughly daily during shower... and remove all sweat residue etc etc and make sure you wipe your butt clean from poo poo and pee pee after doing the business, basically to remove the moist in those areas - you really don't need any more moist there to breed bacteria)
I don't think there is anything that can be done to fix the scarring. As boil scars are not not surface scars, they are not that easy to rid off. depending on where your scars are, you can probably use some scar cream or vitamin d cream to at least fade the surface colour, the crates and holes will most likely stay :( (laser might be the last option - check with Dr)
hope some tips here will help .......(PS - as humiliating as it is ... go see a doctor.... the 10 minute humiliation is better than a lifetime of boils. The second you walk out the dr's room, he/she is not going to remember you and your boils... and life goes on... so HAVE NO SHAME & SEE A DOCTOR!!)
good luck to all

Hi, i have been having this problem since i was a teenager , i am 43 year old woman, and darn this is embarrassing... it seems to go away at times then BANG back again... some are ingrown hairs, some are boils, some are black heads, hence my legs do rub when i walk i might be a little overweight but not that much. I had lost weight at one point, it got better but never went away, i was thinking lazer or peeling, i think peeling would help quite a bit.. so glad to know that i am not the only one like i thought i was... it makes me feel bad having sexual intercourse , dont want my husband to see it in broad day light i keep the lights off... whath a drag... i hope that TCA would work for me... thanks for your post..

I am 53 years old and have had this since I was 13. That's 40 years. I am sure you can imagine what it has done to my self esteem and the humiliation I endured going through exams, births, and hiding my skin so no one would see. I too went to two doctors, one a general practitioner and the other a dermatologist. The GP looked at me angrily and said "lose some weight and they will go away." The dermatologist game me a cream and said use this and if they start to come back start using it again. It helped some, but they would come back again. Vicious psychological torture. The worst thing for me has been that it has made me unable to leave bad relationships. I wrote down all the suggestions you all made and will incorporate some of them with what I am doing now which is bathing in the bathtub, not shower, and using baking soda in my bath. Also, I use the exfoliating gloves. Once you bath with the gloves, you'll never go without them. Since using the baking soda (and also by the way, I have been drinking Bragg's Apple Cider Vinegar every day (1 Tbsp. to 4 to 8 ounces water) ) and I have noticed that they have shrunk some. I read that the baking soda dissolves the blackhead. I hope it is true and not my imagination. Shame on the doctors who did nothing to help us and the lady doctor that posted I hope you will find a sure fire way to kill this beast and maybe you could take this to the Dr. Oz show and get us some help. This disease is life altering, led me to anxiety, depression, shame, and agoraphobia. Knowing now that I am not alone gives me great comfort. I thank you all for that and could I ask you to please sign up and make an account with this site so that we can all keep in touch and share our successes and failures, what we've stopped eating (in my case, it's sugar), be there for the newcomers who will need our help. Last thing I want to mention is clothing. When I was young I did not have many clothes. What I had was either too big or too small and I remember lots of times when my legs rubbed together until they burned. Today's jeans are mostly cotton and spandex and feel like your sitting in a suana in the summertime. These jeans are great for cool weather but, come springtime, whoa, sweat like hell. So in the summertime, I look for cotton clothing. Look at the labels, you want 100% cotton. Another suggestion, if you wear skirts or dresses, find a snug fitting cotton short to wear under neath. I also wear a cotton short when I have to wear any pants that contain polyester or spandex, etc. In the winter I also ad a snug fitting cotton v-neck men's t-shirt. I promise you, you will feel much more comfortable in your clothes. If you do not know about fabrics, educate yourself on this. The stuff they are selling us at Wal-Mart for summer clothing is combined cotton/poly/spandex clothing that is like wearing a garbage bag and your jeans, cotton/spandex, is like having a cotton shirt and a garbage bag on. I hope I have contributed some ideas to our cause. Thank you all for sharing.
