Same issue - but I also had a lump come up below the collarbone towards the left shoulder - about the size of an A cup breast! I had just finished the last pill in a 10 day course of Cipro for sinus/ear pain and a painful lump the size of a large marble next to my thyroid, and joint pain everywhere that very morning! I had a CBC done, and all came back normal EXCEPT I have reactivated EBV (mononucleosis) - so SOMETHING has knocked out my immune system. I had a sonogram done of my thyroid and the boobular mass - nothing. I have since developed huge yellow pus pockets on my tonsils and a white pustule on the back of my throat. I went to the ENT today who did my sinus surgery years ago and what he can see with a scope looks irritated, but no obvious infection, although the area below my right eye and beside my nose is sore to pressure, and my eye feels like it's bulging out (just like it did when I had constant sinus infections). They are scheduling me for a CAT scan to "examine my head" : ) From what the Doc says above, the swelling could be from the Mono, but what knocked out my immune system in the first place is still TBD.

When you have hypothyroidism, you may have "fat pad" above clavicles. The other visual sign is lost of the later 1/3 of the eyebrows. If you have both, you may want to check your thyroid heromones.

Hi i am 29 years old and live in belgium. I have a swelling above left collar bone for about 8 years. And it feels like my right side is starting to have the same thing. I also believe this is connected to spiritual growth and i was wondering if you already know more about this. So if you know why this is happening, please share it with me!

I had the same thing on both sides under my clavical, bags, like water balloon's. I'm 67 and I would never remember to ask my Dr when I went for visits, but a funny thing happened and they disappeared. I started taking, Cialis. And oh my goodness, did it ever work wonders. But, I got various very possitive, side effect from the Cialis. Let me enumerate them: 1) well you know the first, greatest invention since sliced bread. I'm so happy, I sneeze and confetti come out of me... 2) I have more energy 3) I'm having great bowl movements, like when I was 17 yrbgs old. 3) very good effect on me for passing water. 4) weight loss and muscle building with no excersise... 5) and those bags of liqiuid under my clavical, both gone. I'm not pushing Cialis, I'm just supprises that they don't give to everyone or put it in Kelloggs frosted flakes, cause their , GREAT!!!! I don't know what's in Cialis but I feel like I'm 35 all over again. God Bless you all. And good night.

The swelling above my left collar bone started a day or two after I finished 7 days of antibiotics for a sinus infection. Initially I thought that was what caused the swelling. I had a ct scan with color and they found no mass. CBC showed nothing of concern either. Going to pulmonologist next as they might think I have the beginning of emphysema.

Hello Everyone,
I've been having the swelling above my collar bone on the right side for about 4 years now. I'll wake up and it will already be huge. it sticks around for 2-3 days then goes away. The first time it happened I panicked, thinking it was an allergic reaction. Went to the ER, they checked it out and said it was muscular. I am prone to muscle spasms, so it made sense. It didn't happen again for about a year, then it started acting up again. I managed to get a same-day appt with my doc so he could actually see it. He had no idea, sent me for blood work, Xrays, and an ultrasound. It all came back normal except for my WBC count which was slightly elevated. They did more blood work, it all came back normal. I saw an ENT who sent me for a CT scan. Normal. I had been having a series of medical troubles that summer (stomach inflammation from the water in my new place), so I just dropped it.
It flared up again right before the holidays (Dec. 2015) and has recurred twice. I just got back from the ENT (again). He told me it could be lymphatic fluid build-up, but my lymph nodes are ok. He wants me to contact him immediately the next time it flares up. He wants an MRI while it's happening. He said if there is any blockage in the lymph vessel surgery could be an option. But we can't tell until he can get an image.
The swelling always goes away after a few days. There's no pain or trouble swallowing, it's just annoying and unsightly.
I'm 44, female, about 20lbs overweight (but nearly 6ft), ex-smoker (25yrs), social drinker. I work out 3 days a week: elliptical/cardio, weight machines and free weights, stretching and swimming. I have asthma and take a daily inhaler. I've also taken prednisone many times, for asthma and inflammation in my back. Most of my ailments are muscular/skeletal. I was in a bad car wreck that damaged my spine in 3 places. I've had cartilage shaved off the L5/S1 vertebrae. I've had a few cortisone injections at that spot for sciatic pain. I have trouble with my shoulders and neck, also. Lots of arthritis.
I'm so glad I found this thread! It's good to know I'm not alone. I have tried researching it before but never got anywhere.
Just wanted to add to the info, and I hope we all get some (better) answers some day.
