I had HPV, Cin-2 lesions on my cervix, underwent LEEP (loop electroscopic extraction Procedure) to remove the cells from my cervix. 7 yrs later I have developed a wart. They are not connected because they are different strains of the virus. I have been in a faithful commited relationship for 7 years and prior to that was in a faithful one for 4 yrs. Neither of my partners can be "blamed" because the virus could be new or could have been dormant all these years. No, I never developed cancer. No, I'm not afraid I'm gonna get cancer or spread the virus. My partner is aware of this. He and I are careful. I should mention I have given birth to 4 children AFTER the LEEP with no complications what-so-ever. Do your research, talk to your doctor, be prepared to undergo regular PAP tests and be aware of your body. Prevention is the best medicine and fear cures NOTHING. A virus will run it's course, and can flare up again, and that is why regular pap exams are paramount after an initial diagnosis. Honest communication with your partner now, and any partner in the future is the only fair way to enter a sexual relationship anyway so doing so with facts instead of here-say is the smart way to go.
I have been going crazy for the past years on and off about my diagnosis, but more so recently I have been having sleepless nights about it. I was told i had hpv 5yrs ago (2005) and i was 20 then. I am now 25 and I really want to go get it checked now that I have my own insurance and no longer on my parents' insurance. I was too terrified to go get the test done because I feel like what if I already have cervical cancer. I was told I had the high-risk Hpv and my doctor then urged me to go get a procedure done, but the thought of my parents finding out terrified me so much that I decided to just wait and now it's been 5years and I feel like IT MIGHT BE TOO LATE. I really hope I haven't screwed up my life...I know...it's wishing for too much....but I fear so much has gone wrong between 2005 and now that it might be too late. Please help. Does it really mean I havecervical cancer by now?
FYI, I just got this, and I could have gotten it yrs ago in high school and it is now just showing up. There are hundreds of cases of HPV, when you have been infected by one case you will not get it again if you continue with the same partner. IF you have different partners you can get it back from a different form. Men do get it and will usually pass it, just like a flu virues. This is treat able it is a viruse. I freaked when I found out and my husband and I have asked all the doctors.... There are also two stages of HPV, warts and cervical cancer they are different.

heres my story i need advise but only if you know your facts please......I was with a guy for a couple of years and he was always cheating on me....the results....I got genital warts :-( here i am 5 years later still trying to completely understand it....when i first had a break out i went to the doc and they told me that after it cleared up it wouldnt come back unless i was re exposed to it. I had paps that came back completely normal and std free....to my suprise 3 years later i had another break out....I was with a new guy and my first thought was that this as****e cheated on me too and Im blessed with the same burden a second time....went back to a different doc that told me there is no way of getting rid of it....ill have it for the rest of my life...I was shocked and heart broken...ive been with other people since i first found out i had it 5 years ago and they didnt get it. they knew ahead of time so thankfully i didnt have to retrace my steps and break bad news. So here i am thinking i can never get rid of it but then i hear about the LEEP procedure and that it will cure me of it...that it wipes the cells rite out...is this true are my prayers being answered? Im keeping my fingers crossed but do not want to get my hopes up just in case its not....please help..I know that only a doctor can really answer this question but look at what i delt with in the past its hard to trust what they say...I dont want to pay for something thats not going to work.....
I am going through the same thing right now and 5 days ago I talked to my doctor about this. I asked her, "Will I ever get rid of this (high risk HPV)?" and she replied, "either you will get rid of it or you will get cancer." By get rid of it she meant that either the LEEP procedure worked and the virus is out of my system or it spread and I have to get more removed. There are strains of HPV that will never leave your system, the low grade HPV which are the genital warts. Doctors are not concerned with these warts and in fact you wouldn't have gotten the LEEP procedure if that is what you have. Once your body has successfully fought off the strain of HPV your body is immune to it and you will not get the same strain. However there are hundreds of types of HPV. My advice is to get the HPV vaccine, that way you won't have to go through this again.
Are you a complete id**t????? "Wait for the guy who loves you".....REALLY?!?!?! If you "have it" then you know men cannot be tested for it, nor do they know they have it. It takes ONE person to give you HPV, and chances are...the man DID NOT KNOW unless he infected someone previously and they told him. BUT there is no way to know who infected you...I was with the same guy for 4 years tested negative all 4 years....then tested positive. It is all up to YOUR body and immune system as to if the HPV can attack or not. And my doctor has told me before that it DOES in fact clear up on its own.
I don't think the vaccine works once you have had it! That is why it is recommended for you girls before they have sex... I just read about it. I too have had the LEEP.
I have it and had the LEEP done and I know for a fact it didn't take 10 yrs. My dr said it takes time or a major change to your body. I just so happened to be pregnant with baby #1 when it was detected!! I consider my son to be a true gift!! I had had sex for the first time 6 yrs prior and had been with that same partner (son's dad and husband now) for 4 almost 5 yrs. I had had 2 paps before I got pregnant and they were normal. So I honestly don't think there is an definate understand for HPV yet. It is in the workS!! Congrats to you your story gives many a lot of hope. It makes me feel better I know that! :)

Hi I just wanted to ask some questions pertaining to HPV. I been going for the past year 1/2 pap after pap and biopsy, cryo, then finally in Dec I had the leeping done and the Dr called stating I do not have cancer. That was the best news in the world for me. Before all these test I wasnt having sex for awhile and I actually dont know how I got it or when because I didnt do a pap since 2003. So my question is now I have a bf and we have been together for some months now and we are madly in love with eachother and we want to have a kid my thing is can I have kids? I also have PCOS which is polycyctic ovarian syndrome I use to not get my mentrual periods regularly and jan was the last month I took my birth controls and feb my period didnt come and now in March I have it which my Dr said its good that means my mentrual period maybe got regulated. So now that I am on my period how do I know when I ovulate? Can I still have kids? I have to wait until my pap next week to even see if I still have HPV. What are he chances of HPV leaving your system after the leep procedure. I just get so confused. I ask questions a lot to my doctors they actually have a name for me ms freakout because I always freak out when they call me thinking its the worst news or something bad. I need help and please try to give me the best advice because I never had kids I am 27 I really want to become a mother even if its one kid. What do I do?????????????????????????? TY
you do have hpv forever. It does go dormant but doesn't go away. Also, there is noway to know which strain you have. It's divided into "high risk" & "low risk"
although the guardasil shot helps prevent HPV it only protects against the 4 most common strands of HPV. You can still get other strands even if you have had the shots.
