Really? Huh.. Well my experience was very different. I developed adenocarcinoma stage 3 two years after leep procedure then surgery. Then.. It spread to my uterus ( partial hysterectomy) then it spread again. I had to have abdominal radiation and cysplatin infusions. Please don't say it's not serious. It can be. Every woman is different and my case was a severe one. Last scan showed no mets thank god. But it happens. It did to me and many other women I've been in contact with.

There are so many people that will scare you and say you'll have it for life. I've found out I had hpv a month ago. immediately became devastated. thought I was gonna die. I pulled myself together did research and I'm more easy on myself. I also prayed and started getting a stronger relationship with God. He allowed this to happen for a reason for me to open my eyes. I have faith in Him and I know he will see me through and I will conquer this battle against high risk hpv. Just think positive people. Having fear and being sad will only cause other problems with you.

The thing with the virus is that there is more then 50 tipes of HPV virus there is low risk, and there is high risk ...your immun system will most likely fight low risk very good if you are keeping it boost...but then the high risk HPV,16,18,30,33,35 this are the one that immun system wont fight and are more likely to develop in to cervical cancer if not treated ....it is a horrible virus....young girls must learn about it ASAP ....

HPV is associated with genital warts. There are two types of HPV, low risk (possible genital warts) and high risk (cancerous).

I was 20 yrs old when I became sexually active. I had thought that I choose a safe partner, and continued my relationship with him for 10 months. I am now 21 yrs old. It was my first relationship, so I had not yet learned that men are not to be trusted, and I belived him when he said he regularly does check ups for STDS, that he is faithful to me and that he loves me. To my surprise shortly after our break up, I had finally choose to accept that I was being manipulated for almost a year. I decided to urgently check with my doctor if I might be sick with anything, a week later turns out I have genital herpes, clamydia, HPV the strain that causes warts, and the strain that causes cancer along with other viruses which I quickly cleared with antiobiotics. My biopsy revealed that I'm in stage 3. In less than a year, I had progressed to stage 3 and I have my surgery tomorrow to remove the outer part of my uterus. I do not smoke, I eat healthy, I exercise, rarely drink, i'm young, and I have only had one sexual partner. That should have put my in the low-risk group, but apparently it was the immense stress and pain that I had experienced during the break up that sped up the process. I feel cheated.... any words of wisdom?

Actually I have HPV I was diagnosed with it in 2011 and my gynecologist told me it will never go away and there is no cure. Your warts if you have them can go away and come back over your entire lifetime. That's from the words of a doctor.

This is totally inaccurate, leep does not cure hpv, it essentially is a fix for the symptoms- varying levels of cervical dysplasia. It is possible for your body to clear the virus on it's own, sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. But you can't get the same strain of hpv twice if your body clears it, your signifigant others status is irrelevant, unless he's caught a different strain somewhere. You don't end a relationship over this. If anything it should be incentive to stay in a relationship if it's monogamous to not get a New strain! I feel pretty confident in what I'm saying because I have it, have had cone biopsy and leap, and Now because I'm done having children, am having a hysterectomy to resolve the issues long term since my body apparently doesn't want to fight the virus. But I will still have hpv. Unless, and until my immune system gets rid of it! Even without any reproductive organs. My bf will still have it. And we will still be together. And all of this has been discussed numerous Times with my oobgyn I've used my whole life, and even a different one I went to for second opinion!
