My fiancé has a carver nous hemangioma of the upper right interior in his brain... Within the last few months we've been in and out of the emergency room because he has been feeling like he is goin to pass out, heart palpitations and so on... Most recently he has been having waves of headaches and today he lost his ability to see for a brief period of time... We've been keeping track of symptoms: difficulty with speach and uncontrollable shakiness, unsteadiness. He is scheduling a dr apt but I was wondering if anybody could enlighten me on what might be going on

Hi TanMed,

A cavernous hemangioma is a blood vessel malformation in the brain.  These vessels leak blood into the brain slowly and it can cause the symptoms you describe.  It can also cause seizures.  There isn't little room into the brain and even a small amount of bleeding can cause problems.  They are benign.

Sometimes drugs can help reduce the symptoms.  Surgery may be required however.

Your fiance' needs to see a neurologist.  This is NOT something for the ER to handle.  At a minimum he needs an MRI.

Often, when there are NEW symptoms, it indicates a new round of bleeding.

Schedule that appointment.

Good luck.
