I had migraines everyday for 21 days with 1 day break after each week. After that i could hear a terrible crackling and popping sound when i moved my head migraines started new years eve this year & i have tried lots of methods to rid myself of this & only today 19/06/2017 it is mostly all but gone :)
Yes, exactly what's happening to me. Can all of this be related to anxiety? And if so, do you think that the cracking could mean that the anxiety attacks can cause permanent damage/changes that can somehow cause the crackling sounds?

This is me omg I have had these symptoms for over two and a half years now. My left ear makes a long hissing sound when I move or bend my head sde to side but the clicking and crackling is all over my head and neck. I am seeing an oeteopath atm so I hope and pray it helps relieve the symptoms which can be extremely dibilitating some days.

Just an added note to his explanation: I recently went to an RMT and I mentioned my symptoms in passing (since my family doctor didn't know what it was). She said to push your tongue to the roof of your mouth, and allow your jaw to drop open. IT WORKED!! THE CRACKLING STOPPED IMMEDIATELY!
Yes, I'm with you, they always refer to arthritis in the neck. That is not the same sound or place that it's coming from! For me it is like if you were to draw a line across the back of the head from near the top of the ear across to the top of the other ear, or maybe mid ear length. Now when I get it a bad headache or migraine is soon to follow. Doctors I've been to like my neurologist say, "Oh, never heard of that before!" The crackling sometimes sounds wet, as if fluid was being forced through tight bent areas, if that makes sense. The sound is so loud within my own head I always think that others must be able to hear it if they were close enough, but they never can.

I have a similar problem. Try taking Cod liver oil capsules or something similar- that seems to help 'lubricate' inside my head!
Do you have a low fat diet? If so try Omega 3 or Cod liver oil supplements. I have the same problem and found the supplements made a big difference. I am now experimenting with a little organic coconut oil each day to see if this helps.
You're not alone - I had a few traumatic incidents happen and began noticing this phenomenon of the Rice Krispies in cold milk minurature crackling sound...it makes you hesitant to tell anyone because people are so unempathetic and quick to judge and or joke and you don't want them to wonder if your crazy... Clicking in your brain - yeah must be going nuts... but it's scary and I wonder if that's where the term "Cracking up" originates from.
Well anyway - I am unemployed and suffering poverty and I can't afford to go down the rabbit hole of expensive medical tests so I endure the weird condition and research on Google trying to piece the puzzle together and diagnose my own theory until I can afford a professional. Regards
