I am a 28 year old female with too much going on at the moment. I had a PFO closure device put in my heart in Feb of this year and because of that I am not able to have my brain surgery until Sept. I am taking Plavix 75mg 1/day along with 325mg of asprin. I have been told that I have Chiari 1 malformation of the brain. Basically, my brain has no room and is trying to force itself down into my spine. OUCH! Before my heart surgery I had TIA, mini-stokes, quite often. I have had only one since then and my neruologists says that I am having the TIA because of a migraine headaches. I do not agree with this. My neuro-surgeon told me tha Chiari has 3 different "stages" the second one has TIA as symptoms. Does anyone here have this "condition" or know anyone. I am having a hard time with this and I am getting very irritated with my neuo. :-)
I have read your post and it seems that you are not quite satisfied with your neurologist's opinion. Why not try to ask for a second opinion to other neurologists? they might suggest other reasons pertaining to your condition. How was your treatment going for your TFO?
