All sound like symptoms of acid reflux / GERD. when acid flows back up it can burn numbers parts of the body. Making them feel hot or itchy. It can effect anything from the waist up
I had the burning sensation and went to MRI and got it is about the nerves in the neck. May be it will be good for you to go to check by MRI.
My doctor suggested of water also avoid junk food and smoking . He said its acidity.
Hi i also had these symptoms last year about this time and was given inhalor which did not work. It disappeared on its own but i went in a diet n lost weight which i think might have helped. Iv now started to get it again and today it was foggy n damp and this pain was a lot worse. Gets bad when i exert myself, going upstairs or even walking. Did you get to the bottom of yours ?
I get this burning in my upper left area near the joint not sure what cause it ? is it stress related or a nerve ?
I think I've figured out this burning sensation in my upper chest that extends to the left of my chin is because of nerve irritation at the base of my neck, but it is definitely amplified by stress/anxiety which is worsened by not eating enough and poor sleep (not enough food, not enough sleep, not enough X). The burning sensation is exactly like the kind of burning sensation I went to the ER for (Although, I was getting mad at my brother at the time; I guess this time, I'm being anxious about these burning sensation in my upper chest/left-neck, lol.), and the pill that definitely relieved it was Ativan - one of the strongest anti-anxiety medication on the block.
I'm thinking I should just drink some kava.:?/

Did you ever find out the cause? I have the same thing but not most of the time. Only when I am gardening, lifting heavy things etc. basically like you do. I have had it for nearly four
years. I guess if it was very serious I would be dead by now. LOL

I'm experiencing this too every night. It always wakes me up from sleep when it triggers. The burning sensation from my chest up to the neck and chin always accompanied by nausea. Visited several doctors already including cardiologist and gastro doctor.
Hello , did you find out what is causing this ? i have exactly same symptoms " burning sensation in the neck and chest area and also feel better when exposed to cold air ! "
did you check your thyroid ? i have hyperthyroidism and most of the doctors i have met saying this symptoms could be from it but they are not confirming

Burning sensation and chest and neck area
Burning sensation in top of chest and neck only and have no sore throat, fever or pain?
Mine happens at night (at rest) as well. It starts as a "flushing" heat/pain that travels up my left arm to my neck and across to my chest. Scares the hell out of me every time. My cardiac enzymes are all normal as is my EKG and lung xray. My doc currently thinks it may be something called "silent reflux" - nausea, gagging and arm/neck/chest pain without heartburn. Not sure - going to try to start on Zantac 2x day and see if that works. I gag just randomly riding down the road...it's ridiculous!
Water will help if potassuim is high. Thats why the doc gave you a water tablet to help get it out and to help you kidneys worl it out quickly. GUEST pls ask you doc if the fact are correct....before yoy call people fools.........
Here too! I have the same feeling and it's heartburn! I couldn't sleep. Burning sensation in my chest and my throat. It's so painful and I feel like I'm having heart attack! I'm only 28!
I hope you all got to your doctor, and got a proper diagnosis. In my case, it indicated I had a coronary artery that was almost completely blocked, and part of my heart wasn't getting enough oxygen. I had to get a stent in that artery. If you have any of the risk factors, such as high cholesterol, high blood pressure, or a family history of heart disease, please get to your doctor sooner, not later. I'm so glad it got caught *before* I had the heart attack!
