SAME CASE IS HERE MY WIFE IS PREGNENT AND DR. SAID THAT FETAL HAS CALCIUM IN HIS/HER HEART IN FIRST TARGET SCAN AND HE SAID THAT NOTHING TO WOORIED BUT ADVISE ONE MORE TARGET SCAN WITH SPECIALIZED AND THEN I AGAIN DO TARGET SCAN AND DR. SAID THAT BECAUSE EXCEPT CALCIUM EVERYTHING IS NORMAL SO THE PREGNANCY COUNT AS A NORMAL. SO PLZ IF ANYTHING SIGN OF CALCIUM CHECK WHETEHER EXCEPT CALCIUM ALL THE THINGS OR NORMAL OR NOT FOR THESE DO TARGET SCAN AND THEN DECIDE. AS RECORD FOUND THAT IN 1000 ONLY 1 FETAL IS RISCKY .
Recently I when to the doctor found calcium deposited in my baby girl heart, I just didn't know what to do with myself. I just keep on praying. A week later my hubby blood work came black with sickle traits and I already know I have the traits too. My I cannot stop crying, my first child, got pregnant through ivf my tubes were block. Im going crazy, im confused, hurt and cannot stop thinking about it.
im 36 and pregnant with my 5th viable pregnancy. i have 4 girls and am having 2 more. im 36 and because of twins my pregnancy is very high risk. i found out yesterday that one of the twins has a calcium deposit in her heart. to do an amnio i would have to have one done on both sacs. i think the risk is 1.5 to 3% loss of pregnancy if i do an amnio. i want to know if something is wrong so i can prepare myself but just dont think i should risk it. anyone have a simular situation with advanced maternal age and a problem with a twin. thanks
Please don't worry too much (although I know we all do as mommies!). I was told the same thing about my daughter at my 6 month check-up and went to 2 appointments with a heart specialist. It is just a "soft" indicator of Downs Syndrome- it does not imply your child will be born with Downs (but most children with Downs are the most loving of all!). My daughter was born healthy and is now 7 months old. Please do not over stress about this. I was told by my doctor that my son probably had it when I carried him almost 14 yrs ago but technology wasn't as good as it is now and wasn't picked up by the ultrasound. Hope this helps!
when i was pregnant with my little girl, they found calcium in her heart and cysts on her brain and offered me amnio, due to the fact that they could be a sign of edwards syndrome or Down syndrome, which i refused as i'd had a miscarriage 5 yrs before and wasnt going to risk another! My little girl was born healthy and perfect, she has Down syndrome but i'm lucky i still have her, if she'd had edwards i probably wouldnt!! She is happy, healthy, beautiful and has an extra chromosome, having a baby with Down syndrome isnt the end of your life, its the start of a slightly different journey, but its one thats worth every single step! :)
Beautiful story Lindy! :) A calcium deposit was found on my little boy's heart this week at my 20 wk US, my BUN test came back low-risk for DS, but in all honesty I would embrace a baby with Downs. I was a nanny for a boy who has Down syndrome for 8 years and I couldn't be more blessed to know him. My little ray of sunshine! Some people just don't have any experience with DS, therefore it is a scary thing. Good luck with your little miracle!
about this and like u say I will continue to stay positive and think happy thoughts!!!
