Hi,
I used to do blow here and there. Usually a couple times a year when other people offered. About a year ago I got more into it. Started looking for reasons to go it. Only down side I saw was the lack of sleep and hangover.
One time while in San Diego on work (I'm an entertainer) I decided to get done on my own.
It was all sticky and clumpy. I did a bunch and maybe more than I could handle. Heart racing/sweating etc.
the next day I felt like sh*t as you'd expect. Then it happened. While at work (playing music in front of a big audience) I started feeling spacey. I shrugged it off as a hangover or maybe dehydration. Then it got real bad. I got light headed, pale and shakey. Couldn't concentrate. I put my head between my legs so I wouldn't pass out. Faked it through the show. I hardly think anyone noticed. But I freaked out!
Then it started.... this feeling happened all the time. About 2x a day. Totally randomly. Sometimes just sitting doing nothing. Sometimes at work, walking down the street. Sometimes lasting 20 min or 3 to 4 hrs. It started making me paranoid. I called them "attacks". It was ruining my work and social life. Taking over.
Doctors kept telling me anxiety. But I've always had a high stress job performing. Never had things like that happen. Besides, why was it happening while I was sitting at home? That's not stressful?!?!
Took a buncha tests and showed up super healthy. I was confused. I work out, eat healthy, I'm young, never had a bad health problem.
So I started to think maybe it was anxiety. People started telling me (who have really bad anxiety attacks) that it's like that for them. Could happen anytime. Randomly. The stress triggers it but not necessarily while you're being stressed. Actually, usually afterwards.
So, I tried it. Meditation, nothing that raises heart rate. No caffine or smoking, no booze or anything dehydrating. Vitamins, Massage 2xs a week. Stretching for 30min everyday. Breathing exercises.
It took a long time but it did go away. For awhile it would come back here and there but I started to learn how to beat it. I'd say to myself "you're in perfect health. It's not your heart. It's stress". Then I'd relax my muscles, breath, smile, stretch. It goes away.
The first step was acknowledging it was anxiety. Hard to believe since I've never had that problem but apparently and quite obvious from this forum and others. Cocaine can trigger semi permanent anxiety attacks in people. Once you know that's what it is you should already start feeling better. Stop freaking out about brain damage and heart attacks. You're ok! It'll go away. Focus on not focusing.
At first feeling of brain fog and dreamlike state Istart relaxation exercises. It gets better shortly after. Do this frequently and you will be cured.
Sometimes in extremely stressful situations I take a small dose of propanol. But it's mostly the placebo effect.
Avoid stress and things that freak you out. For me it's being late and rushing. So I leave early, walk slow, talk calm and controlled, take everything easy.
It sucks that we have to go through this but know you will get better..... I did.
Scary stuff. As a known person in the performance industry it could ruin my life if I had to stop cause of a little blow. Ruin my Rep and carrier. Terrible!
$&;k cocaine and #*k drugs. Stay clean and stress free!

I love you Sir, I just hope what you said (a day or two) is true. It has been 4 days for me.
I am a young team lead, my team thinks I am a wonder kid and can come up with solutions for any kind of problems. But that is not true anymore, and I cant believe my life is messed up by ONE bad night. A lot of people say it is permanent, I hope it will go away.

Hey, how are you going? I am in the middle of the same experience, but for me it has been 2 days. I want to hear that you are better for your sake and mine, I am really scared. Thanks

I have the exact same symptons....

I did a bunch coke (one beer et the end of the night, so I don't think its the alcohol).

I can't focus, trouble reading/internet, neck muscles tightened (feels a bit loose on my body), and it feels like there's something 'stuck' inside the left/front part of my brain, feels like a bloodvessel stuck or something. It's not as bad as a few days ago, but its still there. So far I did a lot of sleeping, eating, a cycling bike. I think it'll go away eventually, but im a bit worried...

So (for the original posters or those who feel same), is this a lasting problem, is it going away.

It will fade but will always be there. Drugs are dangerous for a reason. Cocaine will severe nerve connections and damage brain cells. This is particularly bad because this damage cannot be undone. We get many calls to deal with drugs gone wrong and being a paramedic I have to see the effects first hand.

thx for the reply.

I still hope things will get better and its just a detox thing. In any case, some stuff im experiencing atm. for those interested. last night I went to bed, and my heart rate was way above normal (doing nothing). im breathing more heavilly. I went to take a shower and my vision went yellow, dreamy. im tense. usually when I sit behind my computer im sitting normally, now im sitting with my shoulder raised into my neck. when I watch television I cannot grasp the entire picture (its like im only taking in bits and pieces). I simply have trouble taking things in, absorbing stuff. I literally feel a bit retarded and numb, and that im still a bit high on it (after 6 days). The coke I used felt a bit sharper than usual (and probably used 3/4th to a gram throughout the night). I'm not an avid coke-user at all, I got visitors sometimes I take some. I will write again in about a week.

Almost a week now. I'm a positive kind of person, I think it's a cool down thing, things will heal naturally. but I notice it troughout the day and it is an impairment if its lasting/not improving. never had it before. don't have any anxiety stuff either. i'm just constantly aware of it.

Update... It's still there but I'd say its 90% gone... Stuff I did which helped: smoked weed (no joke), it got me dizzy (more stoned than usual), felt better afterwards. Took asperine, felt things 'clear up' inside my head within minutes. However that was a few days ago. As it is now: When I get excited/aggetated it goes straight to my head and I get dizzy. I have a constant felling of vomiting/something stuck in my throat (wasn't there before). I did another line of coke, which seemed to make it go away, but only temperarilly (my reasoning for doing this is to get things flowing to get things that was built up/stuck out of my system). So right now there's still throat issues (im constantly drinking water, and there's slime build up at the back of my throat). Right now i'll stay clear of everything, see how I feel in a week... Another thing worthy of note: music hurt my ears, I couldn't enjoy music, nor could I remember lyrics a sentence ahead, much better now..

Update: it's been a little over 2 weeks now.

First thing, I'm not the same as I was before I did the coke, but I'm 95% improved in my thinking and can hardly notice it (I think it does in fact severe nerves/harm them). I still have throat issues (could be a cold, but I doubt that). It feels like im a bit lightheaded, and not as alert as I used to be (compare it like a monitor refresh rate not fully used) especially when im cycling outside. Right now I got pills which has magnesium and stimulates bloodflow in the brain (geriaforce) and improves memory.

One thing of note: I had an appointment, smoked a bit of weed, laid down on my bed. Stepped out of bed and had (what I think) an anxiety attack (first time in my life, ever, no joke). It started breathing heavily, walking around the room and making noises, uncontrollably, lasted about 30 seconds. Remember, all of this because of coke use 2 weeks ago. Never before.

When I said 2 weeks ago, I meant 3 weeks ago ^

My friends didn't take me serious, and were laughing at me (even refused to look at comments on internet). One of them does use coke on a regular basis (or at least a lot) never had any problems. So far, I denied them free drugs, they know im serious.

More cocaine should solve your problems

If you chop off a finger it doesn't grow back.

It's been a month now. All I can say, I'm not the same as before (I can notice this with concentration) but the difference is barely noticeable. So i'd say i'm 95% better. Is it an impairment? It was 3 weeks ago, now its almost neglectable (I don't think it'll improve, unless I'd be fooling myself thinking it is). That's it for me, thanks for listening.

Your all drama queens. Coke after one use doesnt effect your brain like that. Your overthinking it and its causing u to believe that. Just dont do it again.

I took cocaine 3 months ago for maybe the 8th time over the course of 5 years. That one night let me to dropping out of Med school because my brain is incapable of doing the amount of learning necessary. Heavy fatigue sets in in the afternoon and any kind of significant brain usage is impossible.

I scored the highest in my country for my medical school examinations and this insidious drug ruined it for me. I'm skeptical as to whether what we took was actually cocaine. It could easily have been cut with some highly toxic chemicals what which has a lasting negative effect on our brains. I hope you all find a way to heal or at the very least a way to cope with the damage.

Take this as a wake-up call. We've dabbled with stuff that has made us function at a lower level than we were previously capable of. But at least now we can learn to live a healthy lifestyle and find fulfillment through that. From the bottom of my heart, I wish you all the very best on your individual journeys to recovery.
