don't worry, i have been there. and finally i am learning to love my body, chubby and all and now that i have got to that point i find i am actually loosing weight after years of failed attempts. i think it is that i have finally realised that i am not meant to look like anyone else i am meant to look like me, so now I'm not trying to loose weight to make my self look like my skinny friends or sister, i am just trying to make myself a better me, a slightly slimmer more toned me. Also don't worry about your weight, weight depends on a whole load of factors not just fat so it is better to be in proportion. i read in a random anthropology journal that the most attractive women, whatever race, era or age have pretty much the same hip to waist ratio of 0.7 so that is what i am aiming for (apparently Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn both had this ratio, which shows it isn't about size it is about proportions). basically i would say step one do something active, that doesn't mean jogging, i hate jogging, after a 20 minuet jog i feel like i might kill someone, and probably end up eating my way through the misery, find something that you actually enjoy, like dancing or swimming work for me, don't think of this as a way to loose weight, think of it as something fun that you like doing which makes you a little healthier, sport is so good for you and will help you loose weight and get toned but the truth is without changing your diet you won't loose any weight. second i would keep a food diary, sound really lame i know (and it is) but one it will make you aware of how much and what you eat and also having that extra moment where you write it down may make you reconsider eating some things, but write down everything, every biscuit every little snack as this is what will probably shop you the most. no you can assess what you eat and probably make some useful changes yourself. if not then talk to a doctor about loosing weight effectively. but do not do anything stupid, taking laxatives to loose weight or other harsh methods may make you quickly drop a few pounds but weight lost quickly will almost certainly return faster and stuff like that messes up your insides which you may not see now but in thirty years time you will. wow i have really gone on a bit but your message just so reminded me of myself. basically just try to be the best you you can, not someone else. and as dorky as this sound being happy ahd healthy really is the most attractive look. i spend most of my time with guys because of my degree and they comment on girls looking 'scary' or 'gross' because of being too thin a hell of a lot more often that they notice a girl who is over weight. And a girl with clear frsh skin shiny hair and a smile will always be attractive even with or without a few pounds. This is from the older wiser me, but I also know that you have to learn this your self, just like your mum telling you, you are beautiful, its very nice but you have to feel it yourself. So from the 16 year old me to you. The two diets that have actually worked for me, remembering that different things work for different people, are weight watchers, (if it seems pricy drop the meetings after a few weeks and continue on your own although the group mentality is a big part of it) just remember to always be honest, it is only you who will loose out by cheating it because it wont work, and the other one is the Dukan diet, which is a bit harsher and I would recommend actually buying the book and following it exactly, and do everything he says to keep healthy, such as drinking loads of water etc. Remember Healthy and happy should be your aims above all else. Good Luck, don’t worry you will grow into yourself, everyone peaks at different times!

try juicing green vegies - kale, cucumber, parsley - with beetroot and carrot every morning and night instead of your meals. Then have a super healthy lunch meal eg steamed vegies with fish or salad with lentils. Lots of water 30ml per every kg you weight. 2 cups of herbal tea - the heat inceases your metabolism. a few almonds if u r hungry can curb the appetite. control stress through beach or park walks. good luck. go for healthy food not fads.

i think you need to drink a bunch of water too . I do all kinds of strange diet things . It hurts your belly at first but you get used to it. Ofcourse its bad for you so just listen to your body. I find it easier than barfing and not eating makes me super dizzy.

that is a lot sorry. im not an expert but i diet and lose weigh in the most "unhealthy" ways possible. Exersizing sucks but i think even if you loose weight you will need to tone. Exersizing is exausting at first but just do a bit of crunches or watever and you will eventually build up to being able to doing more without the discomfort .

Hi Everyone,
I am 25 years old and I had a baby about 9 months ago. I still have ten pounds to lose to get back to my pre-pregancy weight. I run, diet, and still cannot really get these extra pounds off. Some weeks the scale says I am 5 pounds lighter, but after eating normally I gain it all back. How do I get these extra pounds off?! Help!

To be honest, it does work but I don't think I could bear all the side effects it gave me. I can not control my bowel movement and I find it really inconvenient. In relation to losing weight, I find appetite suppressants like prescopodene to be very effective and pretty much practical for me. you can go ahead and give it a try at least for a month. You'll see. Thanks
