What I do in the privacy of my home is my own business....I am not going to explain to my doctor why I need to use it....I am using it for pain since I had surgery on my foot almost 3 years ago and I still get intense pain from it....I also have diabetes and the neuropathy and marijuana helps stop the pain...

ABSOLUTELY you an be allergic to it, even the smell of it! My husband smokes it and just the smell makes me asthmatic and I need my inhaler, which I ONLY NEED when I'm around that skunk weed. I'm laying in bed wheezing right now because he just did his nightly smoke. Luckily, he does usually smoke outside but the stench still gets in the house when he comes in and it makes me sick, effects my breathing and many other allergic reactions. But like some other judgmental posters, he does not believe me. Well I KNOW it's the pot, because I'm just FINE UNTIL I GET WHIFFS OF IT. JUST LIKE CIGARETTES there are second hand smoke issues for some people. Plus the smell is just horrible anyway. My DOG WHEEZES also. And if I'm in a room with a 'pot smoker' while he's smoking, it's even worse. I get out as fast as I can because I know I'll be running for my inhaler AND it makes me dizzy and weird feeling. So now HE'S passed out with his pot and I'm sitting here miserable and waiting/hoping for it to go away. Not fair.

Lot of people claiming to be, but the reality is, no. for something to be allergenic, it must induce a histamine response. Its almost completely benign, all studies done indicate that the negative effects are psychosomatic, caused by internal process'. in every case tested properly the participant always had the same reaction to a control or no reaction to either. It is even listed as a treatment for many of the symptoms people believe it gives them in the old pharmacopeia before the anti cannabis movement began. I realises many people are going to be angered by this comment, as one might take it to imply that they are lying, and that they really do have physical symptoms, I would ask that anyone about to flame sit back and consider/google whether any of their symptoms are common in cases of psychosomatic illness; classical examples are hives on the skin or a tightness of the chest/coughing. or to have a friend get some antihistamine pills and identical sugar pills and have hand them too you at random and take them when they are going to be around cannabis smoke. you'll find both have the same effect if you experiencing a mentally induced reaction. odds of you getting a genuine histamine response from all cannabis smoke of different strands all the same would be astronomically low, there are probably less than 10 people with any sort of genuine reaction in the entire human population.

I feel you i use to smoke too and I actually smoked just now and my lungs are in fire. And my thy throat burns and my eyes are watery and red. And I have a bad headache. This is why I rarley smoke because it gives me bad symptoms. But since it's Thanksgiving I thought I would just take one hit , and now a I comletly regret it. Also after done smoking like for now tomarow my lungs are going to hurt and it will feel like I have asthma. I will have shortness of breath, weezing, and coughing. I been diagnosed with asthma and I have inhailor but I know in reality I don't have asthma because the symptoms only occur when I smoke. Even though I only smoke occasionally I always get a horrible headache , which I believe is from the smoke. The people I live with all smoke and my headache always seem to happen the most when I'm around it. After the experience I have had today I'm not going to smoke anymore and try my best to stay away from it.

Yes if I am even in a room or building where someone lit up , I get immediate reactions then severe. begins with burning itching of eyes mouth face throat etc then onto migraine and bodily sick. If actually exposed to direct smoke immediate full blown migraine with visual auditory disturbance etc body pain a vomiting . This can last for a few days over just one exposure. Yes people have the right to advocate/ expect for their safety/health , and it's not being a cry baby ,it's our job . And yes for every item or substance on this earth there IS ALWAYS a section of the public that WILL be allergic.

Today I just returned from a torturing road trip with friends who I knew smoked marijuana but did not know how MUCH they smoked it. They smoked almost every 15-30 mins for the last two days; in the hotel room, at the casino, in the car, The only allergy I have been know to have is to perfume, and black dye. Now I have the tingling that usually happens at the triggering of these allergies. I also feel light headed. They argued that I drink and it doesnt bother them ( I drink on occasionally) but my argument is that when I drink the alcohol goes down MY throat and also eventually I STOP DRINKING to sober up. When a person smokes everyone around them breathes the smoke and smells AWFUL scent. If this feeling doesn't go away shortly, I think I will go to the emergency room. This will never happen again.
